so I see , but no one has a solution yet I think keeping the previous version on a seperate drive was a wise move as I can just use the older stable version (cant remember when that last had a problem) until its fixed

No im not using a 2 monitor set up I have poser 2014 SR 3 on one drive and poser 2014 SR4 on another drive but both access the runtime from the same place everything is identical except for the different service packs.

Hi there
I've similar issues with previous SR,but SR3 has been probably best and SR2 has been OK too for me.
Did your Poser crashing when you are search in Pose folder and are you using Embedded Libraries
Thanks,Jura

No it didint crash when I searched and as long as i knew what i wanted i could find it and use it with no problem though at the moment Im using the version with SR3 Im not sure having 2 copies of the same program on 1 pc is something your allowed to do or not but it does save uninstalling and re installing .Im not too sure exactly what embedded libraries are if thats what you get by default then the answer is yes

Aha,then good if doesn't crash there,I will be reinstalling my Poser pro and will try older SR2,which has been more stabile for me,well we will see
You have two choices in Poser pro using Embedded and External(Foreground Poser on item load),those function/features you can find under General Preferences->Library
Thanks,Jura

Maybe SR 5 will fix this

No afraid still happens after SR5 but maybe a bit less often

I don't have P2014, but if it uses the same Flash based indexing system as Pro2010, then the issue could be a Flash problem, not just a Poser update issue. Flash updates very frequently and I have seen the issue with dropped image indexes happen with my version of Poser after a major Flash update.
You can try uninstalling/reinstalling Flash, followed by your Poser update. You could also try to get your system to index your runtime directory, but that would probably take forever if yours is as big as mine. :)
I solved my issue with a reinstall of Flash and Poser, which cleared out all the old Flash conflicts/whatever that was causing my particular indexing issues.

If the library is undocked as a general preference, you should be using Adobe Air, not Flash, to power the feature especially under 64-bit OS.

yes I am using adobe air , I still think its the update as the earlier version does not have this problem (i have 2 installations on the same pc)i keep the stable version as a back up but have gone back to that at the moment .As far as I can understand everything must be the same except for the update Indeed the installation with SR5 is a fresh install then updated and the runtime from the earlier version linked to it

Correct. Sorry, it was late. :) But, I had the same issue when an Adobe update hit my machine. All my thumbs were gone and they wouldn't cache. It was likely that I didn't have to reinstall and I could have just re-patched Poser to get the libraries to behave.

I have poser pro 2024 64bit on win 7. Had the same problem. After a while all the icons start to vanish as I scroll the library. I updated AIR and the problem seems to have minimized. That and I deleted the c:/users/user/AppData/Local/IconCache.db file and rebooted. Where user is your user name. I still get an occasional dropped icon but nowhere as bad as before. Plus I use an SSD for my poser drive. In fact I noticed this acted up when I swapped to the SSD. Was still a problem before BUT I was losing ALL the icons as I scrolled when I switched to the SSD.

Early days, but I recently had cause to delete Flash Player 15. Reinstalled it (version 16), but Poser didn't recognise it, so had to do it again from the Poser interface. I also am now using a new keyboard and mouse (nothing fancy). For whatever reason, Poser is now faster, and I haven't had a crash for days, nor have I lost the thumbnails. As a test, delete Flash Player, run CCleaner on your registry, reinstall Flash Player through the Poser interface, and just see. Relatively minor operation, and free, and may just help. In any case, a workaround needs to be tested on multiple systems.

Oh and for hborre, I reinstalled Air as well, but it specifically asked for Flash Player when I launched Poser.
