I've followed three or four tutorials, but I cannot make an object glow in poser pro 2012. I want the object to work as a glow light.
Does gamma correction need to be off or something?

Are you using IDL in the rendering options? To have an object be used as a light emitter, you need the ambient channel in the material room on, and IDL used in the rendering options to have it work.

Show us the object mesh in the scene (either preview or render). Are you using a separate emitter prop?
Show us the glow light's material setup (advanced material room, show all nodes, with their data fields and preview pics expanded).
Show us your render settings.

One : You have to render with IDL
Two: You can make any object "Glow" by Setting Ambient > 0 in the advenced material room.
Three : You can wash away everything by using too many lights.

I'm trying to get an object to do this. I"m using IDL and I set the ambient super high, but I don't get the lighting effect.
I'm trying to get it to look like the following picture
