Having problem importing previous saved M4 V4 characters....Screen is just blank..
When I open Daz People M4 etc figure shows on screen..Non of the body morphs.
Re-import....Now problem is when I try to save...See screen for error....
It did work at one time since I have alot of M4 V4 items saved but will not
open..
Anyone else having this problem? If so how to correct..

I have Game Dev on Win 7 ultimate and have not seen the problem. Your Screen save image shows Poser running the 32bit version. Do you have the same problem with the 64bit.
Where are your runtimes located? Is Poser the only one having problems if not you may have a disk beginning to fail.
I use Poser 13 on Windows 11 - For Scene set up I use a Geekcom A5 - Ryzen 9 5900HX, with 64 gig ram and 3 TB storage, mini PC with final rendering done on normal sized desktop using an AMD Ryzen Threadipper 1950X CPU, Corsair Hydro H100i CPU cooler, 3XS EVGA GTX 1080i SC with 11g Ram, 4 X 16gig Corsair DDR4 Ram and a Corsair RM 100 PSU . The desktop is in a remote location with rendering done via Queue Manager which gives me a clearer desktop and quieter computer room.

The importing is confusing me- are you importing a poser/studio scene into poser or trying to get the M4 from your Poser or Studio runtime library? I haven't had this issue when importing a scene from Studio to Poser 10, nor using a saved character of M4 from my Character runtime library. Odd.

Is Edit>General Preferences>Miscellaneous>Use External Binary Morph targets on? If it is, turn it off and try saving and then reloading a new scene.

That seemed to fix 99%...Some saved items I get the same..
Thank you....

I believe I am correct in saying that the only time you get two icons is if you have the external binary morphs ticked. With external binary morphs un-ticked you get one icon. Not sure why Windows will not let you delete unless it is protected.
Despite the fact that many have no problems with the latest versions of Poser I have not used external binary morphs since Poser 7 as I had the problem you have seen here.

There is an unlock app that will disassociate the files from their parent program. ATM, I am not currently sitting at my home computer to extract the exact application name. It is a freebie, though.

I saw the program online but it's for Vista/Win 7...Not Win XP..did not want to install until I
was sure it would work

You could try reloading each scene that has the dual files and then resaving it. Time consuming, indeed. But since I believe that secondary file contains the morph information, if you just delete it, won't you lose the data permanently? Unless you've saved it in a new scene while having "Use external binary morphs" check off?

Items with the dual files load ok...Its the icons that only have PoserScene that will not load. I have 10+ of
them..Just more annoying then anything else.

Hmmm. I find that odd. I wonder if they used to have matching files that somehow got deleted? Then again, I can't say I know much about the subject, alas.

the files with grey Icons are .PMD files (external Binaries) are these the ones you cannot delete?
if so, have you tried deleting them while poser is closed?
were they created under another username?
as for the blocking of the install, that looks like Firefox is blocking it(that can be changed in your settings), navigate to the containing folder and try launching the installation from there.
