No matter what I change the time zone preference to, all new posts in the forums look like they're coming from the future.
I've tried everything from -0800 to +1000 just to see if I can get the timestamps to change and they never do.
Are the forums on a forced time zone regardless of the user's settings?
/edit
Judging from this post, everything is 2hrs ahead. It's only 6:25pm here, but this post says 8:25pm. I'm currently set to -0800 America/Anchorage as our area is currently PST and there is no option closer to me other than Anchorage and Lost Angeles that I can find.

Hello,
Sorry for the delay in getting you answered.
I have mine set -0500:America/Chicago and the time for me is correct. Currently it is 8:15 pm.

As I said, changing it on my end doesn't even do anything. It's 2 hours ahead no matter what. It happens on multiple devices so it's not my pc.

Just thought of something, do you actually live in Chicago? If so, that's why it works for you, you're actually in CST. Find someone who doesn't live in CST and see if it works for them.
I say CST because the top of the page says "Monday, December 15, 2014 3:47 AM CST" (even though it's only 1:48am here in PST land).
/edit/ I don't know why that crap is highlighted. >.>

My settings are -0400, just checking to see if I am posting from the past. :D
Sabby posted Mon, 15 December 2014 at 10:11 AM
Yep, it's recording all posts in Central time, shouldn't it be showing posts in the time zone of the user?

Sabby- Thanks! I was beginning to feel like I was going nuts or something. lol
Tina- I'm aware of what it's doing, but is it supposed to be doing it? Is it a bug? Intentional?
Would be nice to get some info on the actual issue rather than just what yours and Rendos system settings are.

I also see the same trouble.
The time is two hours ahead of my time and no matter what time zone I pick no changes can be made.
TinaK posted Wed, 17 December 2014 at 7:00 AM
Our techs do agree it is some sort of bug and they will be working today to get this corrected for you.
Thank you for bringing it to our attention.

I'd say there's a bug. it's been around for YEARS. look at London on the list. +0100. what? London is GMT Aka 0000. (it can be BST British Summer Time. but thats not listed.....)
would be nice if this was fixed. since if you put GMT at +1... you throw out the whole time system...

Tina, serious question here.
what timezone system does RO use?
looking at the zones.. it's all over the place. London is plus 1. Africa is 0. the US is from 0 to +7....
it's not international timezones.. so.. what is it?
TinaK posted Wed, 07 January 2015 at 2:24 PM
CDT OR CST

ok we've got some confusion here.
not what time zone RO is in. but what does it use for the setting we're talking about in this thread. it's not UTC (universal Time - EG London is GMT, RO is Central, New york is EST etc), so what is it?
in the settings we have, London, UK, is in the timezone for France, for example. (UTC + 1.) (edit sorry) when London UK, is UTC 0.

You guys are goooddddddddddddddddddd
I did question the Programmer again and guess what now we think we found the issue. They will be making a new release before the end of the week that should correct this for everyone.
Please if you see this time issue anywhere else on the site beside the forums please let me know so that we can have them look at those areas as well.
So hang tight and I do apologize that it took this long to correct this issue.

did the fix go live?
since London is still +1 UTC (should be 0) Paris is +2 (should be +1) and so on... all I'm seeing changed is it's now Europe, London , Europe Paris....
TinaK posted Sat, 10 January 2015 at 9:14 PM
No I don't believe it went through yet. They said they would inform me once it was pushed out and I have not received word yet.

Any word on this? If times aren't going to work properly on the site, may as well just remove all the time stamps site wide.

Sorry unfortunately no there are other things taking the place of this issue.
The programmers tell me that nothing has change and that the forums time has always been off of our server time not your time. That particular profile setting will more than likely be stripped during our next release and be re-evaluated at a another time.
I know this isn't what you all are wanting to hear but this is what has been relayed to me so don't shoot the messenger. I do have it on my list to keep it fresh in their mind so that it isn't forgotten.

I'm using one of the locales that say -8:00 (I'm near Seattle, WA, but there's nothing in the list for Seattle that I can find).
Local current time here is 3:09PM.
Time up top says 5:05PM
This post says 2:09PM.

Ok, this post is using -7:00 as I forgot we entered DST.
Local current time here is 3:11PM
Time up top says 5:09PM
Ok now we're getting somewhere. This post says 3:12PM, which is correct. This leads me to believe that the forum is only accurate during the months of Daylight Savings Time and not months of Standard Time.

An inconsistency I just noticed, forum and topic view show the site time, but a post will show the time from my profile settings.
