Is my memory faulty or did SM used to email users when an update was issued? I get all the marketing emails so I'm definitely on their list

They did, but not right away; it was a week or two after the update was up on the site...
Edit; it's not yet on the update page, so I'm not sure what issues it addresses...

I got a pop-up message in Poser about the new update, leading to the update page with only 5 listed. I tried but indeed the link gives the October update 5.

You need to use the download manager. SR5.1 is there. Just updated.
hborre posted Sat, 20 December 2014 at 12:24 PM
As WandW cited, there is a delay with those who have hard copies or did not use the download manager.
AmbientShade posted Sat, 20 December 2014 at 12:32 PM
Hard copy owners can't use the download manager?
aRtBee posted Sat, 20 December 2014 at 1:04 PM
thanks for the tip. Download & install (on content, poser and QM)

Usually I'm wrong. But to be effective and efficient, I don't need to be correct or accurate.
visit www.aRtBeeWeb.nl (works) or Missing Manuals (tutorials & reviews) - both need an update though

If any one of you lovely poser forum people would be so kind, please post the list of fixes here so that I can see before I download. I'm in the middle of trying to get something done, so I don't want to chance installing it yet in case it stops what I've already done from working for some reason.

I use Poser 13 on Windows 11 - For Scene set up I use a Geekcom A5 - Ryzen 9 5900HX, with 64 gig ram and 3 TB storage, mini PC with final rendering done on normal sized desktop using an AMD Ryzen Threadipper 1950X CPU, Corsair Hydro H100i CPU cooler, 3XS EVGA GTX 1080i SC with 11g Ram, 4 X 16gig Corsair DDR4 Ram and a Corsair RM 100 PSU . The desktop is in a remote location with rendering done via Queue Manager which gives me a clearer desktop and quieter computer room.

OMG, if that's what I think it is, it sounds like they fixed the splitting on symmetry problem!
Big thumbs up to Steve, Teyon, SM, and whoever fixed it if that is the case :-)
I look forward to trying it but it proabably won't be until after Boxing Day now.
Thanks for posting, Hornet!

Okay, but how do I enter my serial number when the Download Manager asks for it? The "About Poser..." screen now blanks out the last 4 digits of my serial number and since I downloaded PP2014, don't have a physical disk to copy the number from.
vilters posted Sun, 21 December 2014 at 6:01 PM
To find your serial number : Open Poser
In the top menu Goto Help, and select "Personalise" => that screen will give your full serial number.

Look it up on your SM customer profile, they store all your serials. I still only get SR5 even with the DLM. No update for me.

What is the build number? 10.0.5.28445 is the SR 5.1 update.

Hard copy owners can't use the download manager?
I'd also like to know. Disc buyers, is there a DLM installer on the disc? Look in C:Program Files (x86)Smith MicroDownload Manager and see if you see the DLM there.

Thanks for that seachnasaigh. It is the new build number, just listed as 5 not 5.1. Downloading now.

I have the physical disk version but when I went into check for updates inside the program it gave me the option to download the current downloadd manager after that I was able to download 5.1.

Found the serial number.. thanks! But now, a new problem.
Now that I've installed the update, I get this message popping up every time I start up PP2014. It goes away when I close it, but it's annoying.
Any suggestions?
Richard60 posted Mon, 22 December 2014 at 10:39 AM
Try reinstalling the patch making sure to uncheck install 32 bit version. fbs7 had the same problem over at RDNA and it appears that if you do not have a 32 bit version installed and you do not uncheck install 32 bit then it messes some files up. He went all the way to reinstall Poser then apply the patch.

For those individuals with purchased hard copies and no direct access to DLM, I discovered something interesting. Computers with PP2014 hard copy installs have no access to the latest SR webpages and DLM. However, go to a computer with no PP2014 install, and the SR5.1 & DLM downloads are clearly available. My question: why the secrecy and limited access to hard copy users? We do register the software as everyone else.

The pages are updated, you just can't access them on a hard copy install computer just yet.
