No comment on likenesses etc, but it's disturbing to think that crap like that can generate 175,277,000+ viewings since 12th April 2013.

Sorry Pumeco, I fear you are alone with that opinion.
Seeing the popularity of the "Cup song", all the youtube clones, the sales figures.... Pretty amazing stuff in my book.
Ha-ha-, I'd be extremely happy to be as crappy.

No Tony, it's crap, honest it is.
What's so incredibly good about that thing that it can generate so many views in such a short amount of time?
It's so amateur they even forgot to lock exposure on the camera on the closing shot for when the door closes :-D
It's popular because way too much power is in the hands of the wrong people.

I don't get the connection. But I won't be eating in that diner anytime soon. She goes from making biscuits, to taking food out to the customers, to cleaning the table to back in the kitchen to make for biscuits. At no time does she wash her hands. Slapping flour off in front of a fan is not sanitary in my restaurant work experience.

I prefer those nice gritty cafes where you can get a Smokey Bacon sandwich :-D

It is popular for the same Reason McDonalds has served "Billions"
while largely Devoid of any Exceptional Merit
its Catchy yet short Enough to Appeal to to the instant gratification of the internet generation.
As Vilter's stated the web is full of such "popular"stuff.

Part of the popularity in it is trying to do the cup thing while singing. Or even without singing. Lots of people fail at it, takes a lot of practice, hand coordination, etc.

I do not use Roxie and have no idea what Mr. Weinberg looks like, but I already have that video saved to my favorites because it is Anna Kendrick. She had been on the stage and was nominated for a Tony (Vilters?) when she was 12, so she has been performing for a while.
Not really interested in the movie, though, so will probably wait for the DVD to be in the $5.00 bin before I think about getting it.

Lousy diner, nobody seems to have a FILLED cup and the waitress spends her time singing a factory made song. Notice the racially segregated tables and stereotypes : grandparent with grandchild, nerdy (Laptop) Asian-with-spectacles, etc...
Don't see the girl as a Roxie lookalike though.
