Hi all, just found this on the BlenderGuru site

http://www.blenderguru.com/articles/cycles-shader-encyclopedia/

Greg Zaal lays down in very simple terms what the nodes are and what they are most commonly used for. It sets an excellent foundation for building more complex materials, since he does go into the Mix and Add shaders as well as the others. Truly excellent article!
