This short SiFi Movie was created in Carrara 8.  My modeling, texture and lighting skills are good, but my animating skills need a lot of work.  I wanted to do a completed 5 min. movie to work on my animating skills.  To speed the project up I used DAZ Characters and clothing, along with several Stonemason models.  I created the ships and the probe droid along with several other models to fill out the scenes.  I welcome any comments or questions as it is all a learning process.

Thank You

SirCamillo

Great animation! Excellent render quality and lighting throughout! I particularly like the ship commander's facial expressions and body movements! This is probably the first Carrara animation that I see where a human character doesn't look or act like a living dead!

Really great job you've done with Carrara here.....and your animation did a good job of carrying the story telling through. Inspiring!

Fantastic job.  I think what makes this animation really pop is the deft editing.  How long did it take you to complete this animation project?  A couple of weeks?  A month?

Have you thought about posting this vid over at the DAZ Studio site, they have an animation forum?

It is not the "DAZ Studio site", it's the "DAZ3D site", and there is an animation forum where we speak about Carrara, Studio, Bryce and also IClone...

It's a general forum for animations.

Very impressive -- please provide some details (how long to animate, motion capture files?, scene lighting)  - great work!

SirCamillo posted Thu, 09 April 2015 at 7:02 PM

No Motion Capture, all hand animated.  It took about three months to put it all together.

Thank you  for all the comments.  It is also posted in DAZ Art Forum.
