Anyone know how to make someone in Poser look small and stocky? Yes, I know I can scale the figure down but all that does is make them look like a scaled down person. I want one of my figures to look small without looking as though they're just further away or as though they're just a smaller version of the full size one. I've tried using X and Z scale's but my character looks like Gimli. I even tried rescaling the head, hands and feet but that made them look ridiculous.
Any advice?

Shorter legs and arms - less so changes to the body and head.
Renderosity forum reply notifications are wonky. If I read a follow-up in a thread, but I don't myself reply, then notifications no longer happen AT ALL on that thread. So if I seem to be ignoring a question, that's why. (Updated September 23, 2019)

You should also try doing what BB said above in conjunction with some morphs that would increase stockiness, i.e. Bulk, Heavy, Arms Size, some muscle morphs and/or (She)Freak morphs too. I never see people using morphs and all shapes are default V4 - oh except for the boob morphs, those they use :)

Shorten the waist. Most women in particular do not have such long waists. Just an artistic observation.

After looking at these other threads that are wonderful!! I have one question ... where can I get the "BB's figure scaler". Save me hours of work in character creation.

Thank you, that helps.
Here is my "Olive" with a scale to 5'5" or there about.
it's sort of quick and "dirty" no fancy shaders applied (i.e. SSS turned off to quicken the render etc.) but a more realistic proportion.

Boni, did you adjust that scale Olive is standing next to? It is Dr Geep's scale & it doesn't match either the Poser 5/DS scale or the Poser 6 scale.
Boni posted Mon, 27 April 2015 at 9:10 PM
I didn't know that. Where is a more accurate scale?

I use the universal sizing apparatus sold here at 'Rosity by Rocketship3D
http://www.renderosity.com/mod/bcs/universal-sizing-apparatus-woman/100084/
and

I consider these must have products, right up there with Netherworks Scripts & Snarlly-Gribbly's scripts.

I half to be careful how I word this or it will be taken that I am arguing.that poser,dr geep etc etc is wrong.
I am not arguing that any one is wrong. I am not saying any one is wrong.
I'm just saying there's Artist licenses being used
and in the end all this is kinda mute anyways.
unless ya half to have accurate measurements for some university human anatomy class or something.
think it was the Greeks that made heads 5 eyes wide 7 eyes tall.bodys 8 heads tall.
the comics marvel dc ,daz follow this.
since a eye is 1 inch then that makes them 56 inches tall.
so it makes superman ,batman,Vicky 4.66666 feet tall.
in the real world.
if Vicky measures 6 feet tall in poser then her eyes are over sized
and her eyes aren't realistic size.
but realistic human ratios don't look all that good in Art anyways.

I totally understand your observation. (see isn't that better than "argument"). There are ideal perspectives of beauty and realistic and ... well different interpretations of each. I work with that ... I try to compromise between ideal and "normal". But the height meter and finding a good one is important. I'd like to find a free alternative to buying one ... although the apparatus appears to be excellent.

How about Fire Angel's measuring tools? I've been building things to that scale for a couple of years now, but was never sure if it conformed to the "established" scale (or even if the debate about Poser's scaling had even been settled).

Just downloaded them. I like them. Thanks!
