Hi all, I was just wondering wether there are plans to implement multiprocessing-ability within a new version of Bryce. Since I have a G4 MP 500 I am really interested in this feature. My last image (see link) took approximately 46h of rendering time. If my second CPU would have been supported, it could spare a lot of time ;-)

Corel has not announced any plans to include native multiprocessing support in Bryce 5, but I guess anything's possible. It sure would be nice, wouldn't it?

Thought I saw some info on that a week ago on Macnn (or somewhere) that showed some impressive render times for the Bryce5 under OSX. They were almost 1/2 the current time rates for comparable processor speeds. Sorry, I don't remember if it said duals or where it was but I'm impressed with Corels' Mac support for Bryce & Painter.

I know it's off-topic, but let me pause to say how beautiful that image is!

http://www.macgaming.co.uk my site :) OSX renders at about 2x the speed thanks to Quartz :) Enjoy :) Ian

Like Willf, I too have recently read (somewhere or other) that Bryce5 is supposed to be significantly faster on Macs running OSX with dual processors. VaVaVoooommm..... Big Robot

One would hope that dual processors would be optimised within Bryce as OSX itself is! - will be a lot faster anyway with its re-written render engine!
