Laurie, we have made great changes in the forum to rid them of the negativity and attitudes that drove good people like yourself away. Our tolerance for bad behavior has been tightened and those who are behaving badly are being dealt with including some who are no longer there. It's not perfect, but we are doing better and better. come take a look.

You don't have to take a couple of extra days to bork chat. It's already borked.
But we're used to it's foibles; we don't need any New & Improved Bugs to learn in order to hang with our buds & have a good time. And if ya plan on using the "New User Experience" arguement to support your borking of our home, let me ask how a noob is gonna tell the difference between chat's previous/ existing flaws from the ones that I'm sure will be introduced, along side of the ones introduced to the rest of the site?

Whole point of chat is that for a lot of us it's important in many ways, I miss talking to my friends on a daily basis in there, and importantly the support that comes from the chat room is phenomenal not just on 3D but on other matters too, the chatters quickly become your family

Most of us would like to work things out in chat but there are special rules from TinaK that bind the hands of some and lose the hands of others. If those rules are abolished, and the new ToS applies evenly to everyone, then there can be some healing and resolution for the problems of the past. It shouldn't be merchant vs hobbyist or folks who hate what others do for a living.
Just saying.

As to the tomatoes... what's yr point? (I'm assuming this is regarding my ketchup assertion). The defining trait separatin' fruits from veggies is the fact that fruits have seeds in 'em. I've NEVER seen seedy ketchup... therefore; vegetable.

Medical Log stardate 19082015
It's been three days since we could establish communications.
The crew is starting to show disturbing symptoms.
At first it started with restless behaviour, but it has grown fast in to a full head-on irritation.
The tolerance levels have dropped heavily and still decreasing every second this situation continues.
Spiders are left loose, bacon and chocolate are no longer shared.
The love is gone, no more hugs, no more laughter.
And there is no trace of pink glitter left.
I suspect some of the crew taken refuge in questionable actions.
After a full diagnostic examination of the crew, I can only conclude that at this rate the only solution to get through this, is put the entire crew in sedation chambers to avoid insanity or even ........extinction.

"in this together" - problem is I no longer feel part of the community - i have to rely on a child to navigate me past the main page or someone to link me in, once i hit the forum / Market Place - i've got approx if lucky 30 mins before I split another migraine on this eyesore - I'm seriously considering giving up all I love because I feel we are falling on deaf ears.
As it stands the chat has been down 52 hours nearly and i can't shop on this site - can't use it and i've nothing worth designing for any more - this change over has killed a passion for the one thing that keeps me fighting - All I can do in my mither tongue is say that the site is a "mogre" or "glaikit" and the web designer is a "ballache".

But seriously, the "or so" part has me worried. Is the chat being completely redone in a new system? Is the old chat being integrated with a couple bug fixes? Should I get out and push?

Well, I see things don't change, Eric crying like a baby as always, Boni at least attempted to stick up for the chatters, and Kimberly, I have to say, although this is not chat, this is a topic about chat, therefore, there is no real topic. The point for the people who actually use the chat facility is to discuss whatever seems relevant to them at the time, this one topic, in the whole of the forum, is probably the only one that is actually on topic, because it's as diverse as the people in it. I have seen no fighting, no threats, nothing in fact that would cause the topic to deteriorate into the cesspools of ridicule and anger that have become so common here of late. Why then, is it deemed necessary to give any kind of "warning", "advice" or whatever we are calling it today?
if you want for this to have some kind of fluidity, I think you are going to be sorely disappointed. The regular chatters (with a couple of exceptions) are pretty good at policing themselves for the most part, and as soon as chat is fixed, you can pretty much guarantee this will be a dead topic.
P.S. we can no longer drag and drop images either.

Not really a forum poster, but getting withdrawls from the missing chat. It won't do me any good to add one more plea to the torrent of others waiting for the chat room to be available again. Nor will my words be heard of how much the new design of the site is one big mess. They think it looks good, so that's how its going to be. No going back.
No ears are listening. "Beta-testers" supposedly prevailed.
Alas it is what it is.

Just a quick update about Chat. It is being worked on and we hope to have it back soon, but may go into next week. As suspected, yes, we do need to sleep too. 
It has been a bit cumbersome and needs a lot of re-doing to be compatible with our new technical environment. We are sorry that it has taken longer than we have hoped, but we have had a couple of issues that we were trying to get resolved first. The good news is that we are also bringing back the 4000x4000 full size gallery image option and auto-create thumbnail for gallery images that many members have been upset about. The white page and uploading issues should all be resolved now, and the writer's gallery now has 25,000 characters again and many other minor bugs have been resolved.
Please continue to send us links and screenshots for anything you see that seems out of place (that helps a lot). We appreciate your support, patience and food porn!
