I asked about this about 2 years ago, things have moved a bit since then. If you were going to set yourself up with a motion capture and performance capture using the vast catalog of poser things what would you use?

Perception Neuron and faceshift? any other options out there?

I tried IPI but it is 1 year subscription now... and not that good (it seems the think any limb it cannot see is flailing wildly around).

Well, there are a couple of scripts by PhilC that might be helpful

Not sure if they work with newest version of poser. A lot of it depends on what you want to do. There are a couple of packages that do facial capture. There's Crazy Talk (never used it) with tutorials here.

Edited to add

Having looked at it, might not be any help at all....

The dust settled, thinking "what a fine home, at least for now" not realizing that doom would soon be coming in the form of a vacuum cleaner.

Thanks, those are not quite what I was looking for. I want to do 3D animation, and poser seems like a great short cut to the process is all. there are several cheaper options out there nowadays. Just seeing what other people have tried and how it worked.

There is a motion capture program available here, on Renderosity. Search for it. IIRC, it's not too expensive.
