I was just about to join Prime again but am seeing that prices now seem based on some percentage instead of a flat $3.50

Is this correct or there's a bug in the store?

Thanks!

Prime prices are now up to the vendor to decide. Some items are still at 3.50, but most are far more, and there is no set rule for it. Not a bug

Hi Coleman,

As DreaminGirl stated, Prime prices are now decided by each vendor. Prime now offers bigger products as well as all vendors instead of just top vendors so there is a bigger selection. Also, we give 1 or 2 free products every month to Prime members as well as bigger coupons, special coupons, forum, etc.

Thank you and have a wonderful day!

I don't care about "1 or 2" make up your mind "free products every month". I want to choose my own products and the value of free products chosen by someone else may be worth zero to me whereas the increase in prices of prime products is real money.

This system is not good. A buyer adds a product to their cart thinking they have the blue discount only to find they're getting no discount or worse... some weird 5% discount which is more of a slap in the face. A store needs to be completely transparent with its pricing or you;re gonna lose trust with your customer.

To me this new Prime approach smells like ... join Prime and get the sale prices we use to offer all the time'... but now you have to join Prime to get them. The lax attitude of the previous... more customer friendly Prime is what's hurting this new Prime.

If I joined Prime and got the Prime products for $3.50 but there's a lot of vendor products at full price I want... I accept those prices because it's cut and dried... an honest trade. With this new Prime where prices are just made willy nilly... what's my incentive as a buyer?

I have zero interest in joining the current Prime membership. It's too bad, because I was just about to join. Vendors pricing their own products on a whim? I have zero interest in partaking in this. As a customer I feel like I'm not being trusted. Like the store's trying to trick me.

I don't care how damn good a product is. I treat the vendor with respect... they should do the same for me.

I'm not complaining just as a single customer, but because the Renderosity store is badass... and this approach is gonna hurt the store in my opinion.

What I'm saying is this.... you add something to your cart that has a discounted BLUE price... then you're ready to make the purchase and find that the BLUE price is no longer there and now some 15.93 weird price is there.

  1. the buyer feels like the blue price was a set up

  2. the new weird percentage price now makes the buyer feel like they're being played because that's a really weird price... something and 93 cents?

Friday I get paid. There's stuff in the marketplace I'd love to buy but it's too damn hard to figure out what the price is gonna be to buy a ton of stuff... so I'm gonna go to another store to spend my whole lot of money.

This is what the blue discount cost you guys.

I agree, non-Prime members really should see the non-Prime Price in the Marketplace, without having to first look at the products page.

This has been brought up several times before, but the answer seems to be 'this is how it will be for now'

Unfortunately not enough customers are complaining about it, so I fear nothing will be changed.

My apologies folks. I was in major brat mode yesterday. I grabbed a Prime membership. Let's see what goodies we can get. Thanks!

I agree, we should see a prime price and regular members prices, tired of clicking pages to see the real price and scrolling through endless pages....at least I'm saving money!

Now, I am in Prime so I can't see exactly what non-Prime members are seeing. As a vendor though, I concur with these customers. It is important to show non-Prime customers very clearly the price they will actually pay so that we are not doing any false advertising.

I you want to show them what they might gain by joining Prime, the best way would be to show the Prime price underneath the main price. I am not sure though how that is going to be solved layout/programming wise right now without adding vertical space to the thumbnail box or pushing up the main price line so it no longer matches up with the icons on the left. This is probably why it hasn't been done.

The solution for now may be to make Prime pricing visible to Prime members only on the thumbnail views, while retaining full price info in the main product view so that customers can also see the difference. If that is doable. 👻
