Has anyone had problems with Poser after installing DSON Importer?

Something's screwing up my Poser. I can't figure it out. Library not showing, renders rendering black

Try deleting your preference file. (That used to be the solution for that.)

I've deleted all the prefs a couple of times. Maybe a fresh install?

What Service Release of Poser are you using? Presuming you are using Poser 10 or PP2014, the current version is SR 5.2, which will show as version 10.0.5.28295 on the Startup screen or under Help>About Poser...

EDIT: Just a thought; did you install the right version of the Importer for 32 vs 64-bit Poser? Poser 10 gets the 32-bit version, Pro or Game Dev get the 64-bit version (unless you are using the 32-bit version of Pro or Game Dev , but I didn't even install it)...

Poser 9 SR3. Pretty sure I installed 32-bit

SR 3.2 is the current SR for Poser 9, version 9.0.3. 26132 for Windows (9.0.3.23027 for OS X)

9.0.3.23027 for OS X installed

Also make sure you also have the most recent version of DSON installed. I'm not sure if OS X uses it, but Poser does use Adobe Air for library in Windows. If it can be used in OS X, check you have the most recent version of Adobe Air.

I've had a weird issue with DSON and Poser 2012. There's some sort of strange memory issue going on during rendering, making me think that DSON is a bit too "resident" once Poser is started, taking up a bit of room or interfering with my render cache for some reason. I can not confirm this, however.

DSON would not fully uninstall, either. It left orphaned wacros that Poser attempts to call, requiring manual uninstallation. All in all, color me "not impressed."

I read somewhere that python scripts often continue to stay open and take memory even when closed but don't recall if that was an older version of poser or not. DSON is better than it has been but it's still not great. I will say keeping DSON updated to the latest versions helps. Still I'd rather have another way to import Genesis, Genesis 2's and their type of files.

DSON failed to uninstall its wacro libraries. I haven't checked, 'cause I don't want to install it again, but either they just didn't include that info in the uninstaller OR the uninstaller requires access permissions it can not get from the Programs directory in Win7 (and others) and does not ask for... It happily runs, not knowing it's not doing its job. :) Thinks like that sometimes happen with installers that create their own directory structure, nestled within another that requires access permissions. Probably works fine on Win 98 and below.
