I'm surprised there's no commentary here. Of course, there is the dreaded word "soon". 😉

Those who aren't on FB should be able to see it , I think...

Will "Very" soon help?? 😉 Yes. This is big. And I have to say, it has major upgrades and new features.

Ack was hoping for a more Christmas time release :( Bet it's close to Thanksgiving which would also be tight spending...

The dust settled, thinking "what a fine home, at least for now" not realizing that doom would soon be coming in the form of a vacuum cleaner.

I agree on a November launch.

I don't mind a dial home to activate/register as long as it's reasonable -- as in just once when it's installed or if your machine dies and you need to put it on a new one. Also if there's a way to activate for people whose systems are never online. I only hope they don't go crazy and hop on the DRM/encryption/cloud bandwagon like others have done and are doing, otherwise I'm looking forward to it. ☺

I rebuilt my old P7 armillary, reworking the mesh -and remapping- to suit a PBR (Physics Based Renderer), and made some initial Superfly materials for it. The Earth is volumetric glass. This will be a freebie. Rendered in P11Pro, Superfly engine

Very nice!

Rigged?

Any chance of a full solar-system orrery? :)

You know, working with Poser to create a truly accurate solar-system orrery would be... a master-work of complexity and design in Poser.

I haven't decided whether to finalize it as a rigged figure or as a hierarchical prop set.

I did make an orrery some time back, as a background setting for Tomb Raider fan art. C3g06Mar2011orreryPanoC.jpg~original.jpg

It would need considerable updating. In any case, I'm guessing you had in mind a tabletop model.

To be accurate, wouldn't the planets have to be truly tiny (as in almost invisible) -- or the entire contraption truly enormous? ;)

Yes. The only thing I can do -and the only thing needed- would be to ERC the planets so that they orbit (and spin) at the correct relative speeds. But a tabletop model with a little hand crank would be feasible. 😀

[moriador]...

Actually, not really. :)

The orrey gives the planet's relative motions. It's not meant to be a "to scale" replica of the solar system, but one that yields useful information. Of course, if you wanted a completely accurate orrey, it being to scale would be necessary. :)
