This is the second in a new series I started to create. Using it to learn more about Lightwave (Ray Trace Node, particle paint, character animating, etc.)

Thanks. Glad you liked it. I continued to become more acquainted with Lightwave thru this project.

Great stuff. Saw it when you posted it on Lightwaves forum. My girlfriend was talking about making some Lego movies, so yours came to mind (even though they are cg) She loved them.

CyBorgTy -
As I mentioned elsewhere, this guy has a serious "Sheldon" problem (Big Bang Theory): "That's My Spot". (Very funny stuff, I should add)
But I did want to ask what you think about this offer from Lightwave:
"For a limited time all 2D and 3D artists can add the powerful LightWave Production Suite including LightWave 2015, ChronoSculpt, and NevronMotion to their creative tools for just $695 and save $998! Owners of earlier versions of LightWave can upgrade to LightWave 2015 and get the Production Suite as a special bonus for only $395! Offer Ends December 31st, 2015."
I have an earlier version of Lightwave and I'm curious about the deal. As you may recall, I like to use Carrara mostly because of its seamless support for Poser content, in particular Gen4 characters (I am not a modeler). I also got sold on and bought Poser Pro 2014 due to a recent Smith Micro low price deal. And I understand that Poser Fusion can connect Poser and Lightwave (although the animation has to be done in Poser, per Mark Bremmer). Sooooo ... should I really be thinking about changing horses? I'm really reluctant since I can do a lot with Carrara, and I'm not keen on another learning curve. But with DAZ's attitude toward Carrara ... (my back and forth continues for a long time)

I think the Lightwave sale is a very good deal. Since you have Poser/Poserfusion, you can continue to use the assets that you purchased from Daz. I have been mainly using characters that I create, but I plan to use poserfusion in a future project (one for which I am tempted to use Carrara). Mark B is correct about where the Poser animation adjustments have to be made (of course if the animation is exported as an mdd or other cache format, then chronoscope could be used for some adjustments).
I really like nevron motion and how it brings motion retargeting to lightwave. With it you rig your character with a certain rig. After that any motions imported can be regargeted to your character. I used it in a couple of places in the above movie; retargeted perception neuron motion and retargeted motion generated in iClone). Most of the animation in this was key frame method and not mocap. , There will be a learning curve. How steep depends on what you already know technically and what skills you process that can be used in any 3d package. Lightwave is powerful but different when compared with Cararra.

Okay, thanks. I'm also looking at YouTube videos, and I'll probably waffle around until the deadline. I'm kind of reluctant since I'm re-learning Poser with the help of Mark B.'s tutorials, and also wanting to get into Fusion Studio which I won in the Rendo Halloween contest. So many toys so little time ...

I know what you mean. Work has been busy and keeping me from playing with this stuff as much as I like. But I will play more during the next couple of weeks (time from work). I need to look for your Rendo Halloween contest entry..
