Who can help me. I have a new PC with Windows 10. I have poser 10 installed, but it will not hold the poser settings. And rendering now takes an eternity. While rendering a naked model is so complete. Who knows where this may be due to. I still have 4 GB of memory that I want to expand to 16GB. Could this be the problem.

You probably need to log on with Admin rights to save the settings... But I don't know how to do that on Windows 10. I'm sorry!
Yes, more ram will help. You can't be too thin, have too many shoes or too much RAM!!!! ;)

Thanks Andy for your answer. Maybe someone else knows how to do that with that admin rights.

More memory will not help you unless you have the Pro version, Poser 10 is only 32-bits. Now how is Poser 10 installed on your computer and where is your content located? There may be other issues with your render; how many lights are in the scene?, are there reflective surfaces?, are your render settings ridiculously high?, etc. The more details that are presented, the better to assess the situation.

I gave up trying to get poser 10 to work correctly, as a 32 bit program it will only recognize a small amount of ram and a model, a back ground and floor of some sort is about all it can handle... Now in days past us poser users had to put up with render times of 24 hours or more for a 640x480 render which came out all cartoon looking...I have tried to goad Smith Micro into explaining why poser 10 is the way it is.. They just ignore me... I have asked them for advice on what kind of performance to expect from poser 10 and asked how to get it....no answer forth coming. Now if you have down loaded the update and you have installed it. then you need to share with me information about your computer for me to hopefully help you more.. As for preferences, they are set using preferences under edit... There are things you can do to help performance but I would need a lot more information... My suggestion though is look for a used copy of poser 2012 pro on Ebay, you can usually get it for about what you paid for poser 10....Best idea for preferences is open poser 10 set your preferences and then exit before doing any work at all, this saves your preferences....Hope I am of some help

hborre - Does not matter whether it is pro 10 or 10, Because Poser Pro 2014 has the same problems. I had Windows 7, 64-bit and poser 10 did work on that.

fritters56 - The preferences or save the setting, only to render settings remains not beaten up.

In a 64-bit operating system, your Poser 10 will be allowed to run with 32-bit constraints; it will only be allowed to use approximately 3.5 Gigs of RAM memory. I upgraded from Win 8.1 to Win 10 with PP2014 installed. I have no problems. Now I've upgraded to Poser 11 Pro and I still have no major issues. If you are experiencing application problems, I would recommend a re-installation; something may have become corrupted. If you believe your scenes are causing problems, then evaluate exactly what is on the stage to pinpoint what is causing the lag. But you need to post more information about your system and where issues are occurring. Screen capture your display and post it here. It is easier to show us an image than to explain what you see.

I have a new PC with Windows 10 is already installed. Intel R (Core) TM i-3 6100CPU @ 3.70GHz. 4GB Ram 64-bit system.

Poser installed from the download manager. With the updates.

If I put the render settings wellt and closed poser the institutions should remain so as I have set them. But poser does not do that, and put the settings back that was set at installation. I never had this problem. And it takes so long to render poser unresponsive.

I get no error messages so it makes no sense to print screens.

I hope you understand what i mean. ;)

What kind of video card and is the video card what they call "integrated"..If the computer is a name brand please give name brand and model number and let us know if it is stock. Also tell us the model(s) you are using , a screen shot would be nice. Also do you have another version of poser on your computer? A reinstall sounds like a good idea to try, but just to wet your appetite as to what can be done in poser 2012 pro.... Christmas-Dance-1.jpg
