I'm considering doing a animated fan film for Star Wars in Poser. Does anyone know where I can get some Star Wars models that will work in Poser??
And is there any chance anyone knows a good place to get sound files for things like the lightsabers?
Thanks for the assist.

Is there anything specific you need? Ships, weapons, buildings, etc.? darkness_02 has some ships for sale here, and I know ShareCG has some ships and blasters (can't recall exactly who has them there off the top of my head). If you're willing to put in some work, there's a bunch of SW stuff on Blend Swap (just be sure to read and follow the licenses there).
Be sure to post the video here (or a link) when it's done!

I have lightsabres, with glow aura and light-casting. On the last page of my ShareCG album there is a lightsabre for P9+ (you can use it without lightcasting in P5+), and if you have P11 there are two on the first page set up for the Superfly render engine.
Vanishing Point has X-wing fighters and such.
Poser 12, in feet.
OSes: Win7Prox64, Win7Ultx64
Silo Pro 2.5.6 64bit, Vue Infinite 2014.7, Genetica 4.0 Studio, UV Mapper Pro, UV Layout Pro, PhotoImpact X3, GIF Animator 5

As far as sound effects goes: Google is your friend. Type in "Star Wars sound bytes" or sound effects, you will pull up several pages of free sites with those sounds on them.
If I had a nickle for ever time a woman told me to get lost, I could buy Manhattan.

And check out my gallery. I have a few Star Wars themed renders in there. If you see something that interests you and you'd like to know how I did it, let me know.

Thank you all for the great resources. I'm not entirely sure exactly what all I will need. I'm still in the early design process. I've had the idea for awhile, but didn't really think about doing anything with it until encouraged by a friend recently.
A few things that do come to mind that I haven't yet seen would be Twi'lek head piece. Speederbike and anything from Jabba's palace.
Thank you again for all your help... very much appreciated.

KeithM on ShareCG has a Twi'lek headpiece for V4.

Star Wars has my interest of late as well, except for images not movies. I've been to Vanishing Point, some pretty good stuff there.
But I haven't found any scenes/environments. I found some for 3ds (forgot site, just re-installed), but they don't open properly even in Blender. Looking for interiors, like Death Star corridors, ship corridors, etc.

I'm on my way out for New Years so just popping in for a moment. I found this web site that has tons of Star Wars 3D content. I do not know if these are stolen or not. If you find they are not legit, please forgive me and have a moderator remove this link. Thanks.
This is a link to a Death Star corridor. There are tons of others - browse the site.

Renderosity forum reply notifications are wonky. If I read a follow-up in a thread, but I don't myself reply, then notifications no longer happen AT ALL on that thread. So if I seem to be ignoring a question, that's why. (Updated September 23, 2019)

Scifi3d's been around a long time. I once did some star wars stuff for them back in my Rhino days. I don't think anything on their site is stolen. They made a point of recruiting folks to make things.

That's the site. I tried that corridor as well. It doesn't import properly with latest Pro 2014 Poser on Win 10 or Blender for me.

I downloaded the .3ds version (.MAX is the prevailing format on that site, with some LightWave and Maya, and a sprinkling of .3ds - some of the doll items offer FBX).
This is what I get loading the Death Star corridor into Silo 2.3:
Parts missing, edges bridged to the wrong edge (or vertex order flipped), etc.

Okay there is one last thing I'd like to have that I have not yet been able to find. A addon/morph for M4 to give him the Nautolan tentacles.

I've used this corridor in 2002 in a small movie. It made no trouble in those days. The movie was all done in Poser 4.2 and that was really a lot of work. Take a look: --> http://www.loseit.homepage.t-online.de/DeathStar%20(21,0).mp4

I did something with the lekku figure from 'Northwatcher' (i thinik, that is what the content folder was labled) it was a long time ago. they come as a single lekku or double. if you use multiple singles parented, not conformed, to the head you can approximate that look. You need to do some morphing of the skull to bring the shape down into the face and in order to get a decent look you have to find a way to solve the join where the tentacles dissappear into the head geometry. texture matching is a bitch if you want to do closeups. The lekku themselves are a bit blocky as they dont have a ton of bones but in recent versions of poser I would think SubD could make them look quite nice. Aside from the blockiness I actually like these better than some of the more recent attempts at lekku. Sorry, no idea where they are available from

Tried taking a look, but error "Video can't be played because the file is corrupt."
Helos posted Fri, 15 January 2016 at 7:32 PM
Hi Gator762, I've used Safari for looking and the movie was running, but with Firefox I'm getting that corrupt-insert too. I'm not very good in web-site making and have had some problems with putting this movie on the site. There's another movie and both are starting at the same time --> sounds are mixed - whaaaahh!! Definitely there is a bug in the site and I had to solve that, but at the moment I haven't the time. Try --> http://www.loseit.homepage.t-online.de/ and get both movies or try Safari or another browser.
Sorry, Henning

@Helos, Well I just right-clicked saved as the movie to my HDD and then launched it, that worked. Edge didn't work either.
Where did you get the scene for it? I found characters and vehicles, but I haven't found a single scene that has worked.
Helos posted Sat, 16 January 2016 at 7:11 PM
@Gator, 'cause I've rendered the scenes in November 2002 in Poser 4.2, I really don't know what exactly I've used and I cannot open the old Poserfiles because the .OBJs and TEXs are not on the computers that I use. I had to find a cardbox with older Poserfiles on DVDs. Wish me some luck for this.
A good source where you can get the DS-Shaft is: http://www.scifi3d.com/list.asp?intGenreID=10&intCatID=41
I generally use the .3DS files in Poser. Better are .OBJs.
The corridor from above (presented by menshseachnasaigh) was only seen in the background behind R2D2. Maybe that I had problems too so that I only used a little part - I don't remember.

You might enjoy this Star Wars fan video made with Poser & Vue, especially if you chuckle at goofy glitches! https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=2QDXNDXY72U If anyone wants to add to this project I will share the open files (mocap, Scene, raw video, etc). Its called Far Warz Rancor Rampage on Youtube.
