hey guys... i have been off the 3d stuff for quite a while.... so this might be a bit of a stupid question, but is there someone who could convert the face of a Victoria 4.2 figure into a G3 face (morph) for me? i'd love to work with the latest genesis figure but i can't seem to get it to look exactly like my old character Is that Is that even possible at all? i'm not up to date anymore. a lot has changed.
im only looking for someone to make the shape of the face. the texture i can make myself ;/ thanks

Here's a tut on how to transfer a morphed V4 to Genesis 2 (make sure you Zero V4's joints before you export!).
http://3doutlaw.com/home/wp-content/uploads/Copying-body-morph-from-V4-to-Genesis.pdf
As far as Genesis 3 goes, it is not fully compatible with Poser; not compatible at all, actually unless you convert it to Tri-Ax rigging in Studio, and then the expressions still don't work in Poser. Apparently there is no V4 clone included with Genesis 3, (there is a commercial one at DAZ), but you can should be able to transfer the Genesis 2 morph from above to Genesis 3; there should be guidance here (not using Genesis 3, I haven't tried it, myself)...

Are you willing to settle for Genesis 2?
I have done such transfers easily with the GEN X plugin.
ALOT Less hassle!

OK, I'm not at Genesis 3 yet but interested. But I'd like to get some of my V4 characters (at least the faces) into Genesis 3 if possible.

Keep in mind, you will need to own the additional plugins first, otherwise, there is no other way to transfer features from one mesh to the other.

OK, so I see you need Genesis Generation X2 & GenX2 AddOn for Genesis 2. I didn't see a conversion yet for G2-G3, although I didn't look too long at it. Saw some issues with joints, but I'd convert face only and use native G3F morphs for the body.
So it may be possible, but it's V4 to G2F to G3F, right?

That would be the workflow until some one releases a script to do the conversion easily.

Have you done a G2F - G3F transfer yet? Easy, difficult? Inquiring minds wanna know.
WandW posted Fri, 15 January 2016 at 8:01 PM
You don't need GenerationX2, but I suppose it would make it easier; I have more time than money right now... The method in 3DOutlaw's tutorial works for both Genesis 1 and 2.
There is some good discussion of Genesis 2 to Genesis 3 transfers in the last couple of pages of the DAZ thread I linked to above. Since Genesis 3 doesn't work well in Poser, I've not pursued it, myself.....

For a V4 to G3F conversion, you'll probably need access to an external modeler to fix morphs and also put head morphs onto the G2F body since no V4 clone for G3F exists. I've done some conversion, but since g3f has less polygons in the eye area, those will need to be fixed after a conversion is made.

Hi there are many discussion on the Daz forums about using the GENX 2 plugin but here is a link to a more "neutral" location that explains it quite well https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=cYCapNih-A4
Ive attached some images of some M4 & v4 based characters I created for my feature length film project the first is an actual frame from the film of the original M 4& V4 versions...

This is a very interesting thread, but I'd like to clarify something.
Is there any way for me to transfer or convert a V4.2 head/face to G3F? If so, what do I need to make this happen?
