Hi, I've not checked in for a while. Can anyone point me to a possible workaround to get P9 to work with W10? SM says there's no support re the issue (which sounds to me like a sales ploy) I'm disappointed to be honest.
Any help would be appreciated. Thanks

This resoloved the issue for me.
KB3132372
which impacts Flash Management on Windows 10. Our Engineers are working to identify the root cause. Microsoft has acknowledged a known issues in this security update and they are aware of limited application crashes that occur after this security update is installed on Windows 10. Microsoft is researching this problem with Adobe and will post more information when the information becomes available. A work around is to uninstall the above update using Add and Remove Programs (Updates)
The other option is to switch to the External Library that uses AIR if you do not wish to remove the problematic Update released by Microsoft earlier this week.
To change to the External Library, go to

For me poser Pro 2010 works under Win 10 well, may be you are affected by the malicious update but you should have got the installation of the corrected update already. Otherwise check for updates.

Pro uses the Air Library, so this issue wouldn't affect it. Poser 9 uses the Flash library, so it's possible it might not be fixed, without removing the Windows update involved, as there was a similar issue in Poser 8 running under Windows 7. You could try a third party Library GUI; here's a free one:

I believe d3d also has one for sale here, and Shaderworks has one for sale over at RDNA...

Thanks. I upgraded from W7 up to 10. I've no way of going back unless I restore my machine to factory settings which I really don't want to do. Thanks for the help.

Hi with the latest windows 10 update for flash KB3133431 on 6 Jan 2016 and with the Poser 9 Service release 3.2 (WIN Version*: 9.0.3. 26132, Released 11/25/2013) from Smith Micro - http://my.smithmicro.com/poser-9-updates.html
I was able to install Poser 9 and it now seems to be running OK on Windows 10, it doesn't crash on start up and the library is working

Does anyone know where I can get the latest update for Poser 9? The above link doesn't seem to exist any more.

I doubt you can get hold of it anymore. Maybe someone who saved all the SR's might have it.

I agree with ghostman. Those SR's are no longer available from SM and there is a strong possibility that they were never transferred to Bondware.

Don't quote me, but I seem to remember such an issue that involved an update to internet explorer that caused problems with Poser around that time. Why Internet Explorer? - I can't remember.

You are correct, it did have something to do with a security roll-out of IE along with the change of OS. There was a file that needed to be deleted early in the changeover and was finally resolved. Google KB3132372, takes you to the Microsoft site where the update is posted but it's a patch for Windows 8.1. I would think that this has been corrected since then.

Quick question where does Bondware stand on patches for older versions as most likely some of us would have them archived?

A moderator might know or, at least, can inquire if Bondware ever got access to those files.
