Hello, I am trying to make sense of how the leader board and artist list get calculated. I have already seen the description of how it works as stated "Leaderboard standings are calculated in real-time. Leaders are ranked by an all-time score calculated on a weighted total of explicit details, such as art favorites, likes, and views." Now that being said, I have paid close attention to some of the listed artists. A few have made the list and have not been active on the site in over a year. Another actually had no gallery what so ever!!!! Could you please give me a more a clearer picture or rubric on how these things are calculated. Your list are just nonsensical. Oh, and no, I am not suggesting I should be on any of these lists. I just want to understand what is going on. Thank, Hamiltongraphics

Hello,

Can you please tell me what lists exactly you are referring to so I can better answer your question?

Thank you,

anahata.c is listed in the artist page for the last two days that I know of. When you click to see his gallery it does not exist. Then others are listed and have very little activity. Just see for yourself. All you have to do is click on the gallery and see how active they are. Simple.

OK , it has been a week. Again, I just want to understand more in depth how these lists are calculated. On my first post I referred to the one sentence explanation that Renderosity gives, however there must be more to it. anahata.c has been on the artist list for the last week and seems to have no gallery or account and others sneak in with very little activity now and then. Again, I am glad these people made the list, I just want to understand how. Thanks, hamiltongraphics

anahata.c does, indeed, have a gallery here. something about the way the search boxes and the links work doesn't actually function properly. I mentioned this problem (specifically in relation to anahata.c's gallery) weeks ago, but I guess they're still "looking into it." i can access his gallery from other places, and can assure you it's really there. if you check the 2d gallery you'll find his work, and should be able to link to his gallery from there.

I wanted to let you know that I did bring this up so that it could be looked into. :)

OK, but my request is for more detailed information about how these lists are calculated. That is the request I have asked for from the start.

Hello,,

The Community staff pulls reports on the top images and then brings them in for a vote.

There is also a new member and artist of the month and these are the ones you may not see as much on. The Member if the month is based on how helpful they are, images, etc.

Hope this helps.

For further questions, please send an email to admin@renderosity.com

Thank you,

OK then, it makes sense now. It's a good ole boys (or gals) club. Because the data does not support the result. Thanks for clearing that up.
