Nothing major, but I've been wondering about the meaning of a couple things within DAZ Studio. All versions so far as I know. The curiosity has been nagging me, and I haven't found an answer from the Documentation.

  1. What does StudioCF do exactly? What does CF mean?

  2. MilWom? I mentioned the folder called "MilWom" in another thread. That's an abbreviation for something, but don't know what. I'm guessing it doesn't mean Military Woman.

Textures for V4 in .dsi format are supposed to be in there, but that doesn't explain the reason for the folder name.

Well, StudiCF I haven't seen, what Iknow is PoserCF and this contains the files for Genesis and Genesis2 that you need to work with Genesis/Genesis2 in Poser 9 and higher.

MilWom alone says nothing as this term is used at least since Victoria 2, maybe Victoria 1, I'm not sure, and is part of the name of the object file for the different Vickies, i. e. blMilWom for V2, blMilWom_v3 forV3 and beMilWom for V4.

I always thought Millennium Woman series and I thought the Studio CF was the later Poser/Daz files post Daz 4.5+ but this latter suggestion would need confirming by a vendor

  1. PoserCF = Poser Companion Files

  2. I think Milwom is short for Millennium Women which started with what was Vicky 1 I guess. There are a series of Millennium Figures from Daz3D including dragons and animals. Check out here for some more background on Vicky's history. - http://everything.explained.today/Victoria_(3D_figure)/

Studio Companion Files are mostly the DS texture settings for an item that is in Poser format, to enable its use in DS.

DSI files are XML code files for the Layered Image Editor (LIE) for DS2 and DS3, if you have installed the correct character/texture set then they should be there, however LIE in DS4 doesn't create those files any more so the product may have been updated, and those files removed.

Thanks everyone. Millenium Woman - makes sense. And thanks for the explanation of CF = Companion Files.

To me CF is & always will be Compact Flash. I don't understand DAZ & Poser Speak very well.
