I am the new moderator of the 2d graphics forum … and I know the 2d area is sorely lacking activity. I would like to suggest we start some mini-challenges to the community that depends heavily on 2d software or traditional art creation. Either drawing, photography or a combination. 3d programs CAN be used since that is the core of the site … but if we can emphasis techniques such as heavy post-work … or filters, framing, toon-work, emulating traditional artistic styles even design such as creating a portfolio, brochure of the user's work … these kinds of challenges could breathe some life back into the 2d arena. What do you all think?

Does one post one's pictures right here or elsewhere? Sounds interesting indeed but I have great confusion when navigating this site. Never sure where things like this should be uploaded to...and I'm usually wrong ! Thanks.

Oh well. I guess everyone else knows but me.

I don't know of any current on-going contests. This was only a thread to ask if we thought it a good idea. I'm sure it will be posted in a sticky if they decide to do a contest.

It was written thus: I would like to suggest we start some mini-challenges to the community that depends heavily on 2d software or traditional art creation. Either drawing, photography or a combination. 3d programs CAN be used since that is the core of the site"

OK, I'm interested muchly about this and would like to post some outcomes...BUT.. The "moderator" doesn't appear to be replying to my request for clarification, unless I've missed something. No wonder all these wonderful suggestions never go anywhere! Everything up in the air. Maybe a moderator who has a clearer mind about such things may be required?

Again I ask: Where does one post one's work? Here on this page? Somewhere else? Or is the OP's post just meant to stimulate and warm some hearts? Is it possible for an answer? Please.

Tracybee, There is no current project or contest. Read the last line of the post, as I said, Boni was only asking what we thought of the idea. If there is enough interest across all the galleries then something may go forward and it will posted as a sticky. l hope there is enough interest as I think it would be fun.

I think it's a dead idea since all of three people (not including the forum coordinator) replied to this thread.

Yeah, I was thinking the same thing. There's also the strong possibility that people only have the one or two forums they are interested in checked on the settings list and never see anything posted outside that.

I never think to check the forums here (and I mean all of Rendo's forums because they're usually dead or full of wonderful people expressing total exasperation). Now I'm sad I missed out on this possible discussion. I love postwork; it's almost all I do!

From my Rehnay's Artwork page on Facebook, which I don't think I'm allowed to actually link to due to the TOS.

Somewhat related: I think if Rendo started doing monthly contests (like the ones RDNA used to do before the DAZ merger), people would be a little more interested and active. A random contest here or there is to hard to predict for participants and is more easily missed. Constant contests with relevant prizes (like a gift certificate to Rendo) would likely encourage more community participation.

Edit: LOL the image I posted was huge, sorry. Shrank it!
