Greetings Gallery Goers and Forum Friends ,

Tonight the Renderosity Coordinators and Staff have a question for you . Who would be interested in us adding to our forums and galleries an Octane section for all of you who are using or want to learn more about Otoy's Octane Render Engine. If you have never heard of Octane , I will include a link to Otoy's site where you can check out what all the fuss is about ! We are aware some of you use Octane as your "go to" render engine and we are interested in adding areas that might thrive and be active. So here is your chance to chime in and make it happen ! If you are an artist who uses Octane or an artist who would like to learn more and see a forum and perhaps a gallery dedicated this purpose chime in and let us know. Your voice is key here and if you would like to see this happen now is the time to be heard. The link is below :

Check out Otoy's Octane and Galleries HERE !!!

I think that would be a great addition. A lot of really good artists on here use Octane, and it would be nice to see their work all together in a unified gallery.

I don't have Octane, but seems like a great idea to me. I know quite a few ppl that do have it.

Well technically I am staff but if I can sneak in and say a big YES it sounds like a plan. And welcome OTW :-)

I'd rather modify this into a render engine forum. Not all of us can afford octane or have other render engines (kerkythea, Thea, luxrender, vray, etc) , that we use cross software platform.

I think I would agree with that, the render engines introduced in both Daz Studio and Poser can be covered in the respective forums but I would be really interested in what artist are producing with render engines outside the programs. If the Octane only render forum does proceed I hope it is monitored for a while and this idea kept in mind. I am all for an active forum of any sort but I don't see the point if the end result is yet another forum that gets a new thread once or twice a year.

I use Poser 13 on Windows 11 - For Scene set up I use a Geekcom A5 -  Ryzen 9 5900HX, with 64 gig ram and 3 TB  storage, mini PC with final rendering done on normal sized desktop using an AMD Ryzen Threadipper 1950X CPU, Corsair Hydro H100i CPU cooler, 3XS EVGA GTX 1080i SC with 11g Ram, 4 X 16gig Corsair DDR4 Ram and a Corsair RM 100 PSU .   The desktop is in a remote location with rendering done via Queue Manager which gives me a clearer desktop and quieter computer room.

Thank you so much everyone for your input! I'm in the process of cleaning up some inactive areas and replacing them with new ones that will guarantee activity. 😃

I render in Octane and would love to see a forum and gallery. Failing that a 'Render Engines' forum for those of us that don't use the Poser and Daz ones would be equally welcome.

No, I would not. I would prefer to see a forum reserved for non-program specific render engines such as reality and octane. I think having separate forums for both is a waste of space.
