Lip Sync test for an independent film "Acordem Ovelhas" (Wake Up Sheeps) that I'm working as an animator. It's a Sci-Fi Comedy. It was Animated in Poser and rendered in Carrara. I can't use the Talk Designer because it doesn't fit on my language (portuguese). It was animated by hand and I figured out that Poser is the best and easier to do hand made animation.

You can use lip sync in DS as well. The language really doesn't matter since it's all phoneme based anyway - saves a lot of work hand-animated the speech. Cararra also has a Mimic plug-in, if you prefer doing it in Cararra.

Maybe I might test it. Is there a way to export the DS lip sync animation to Poser? Because I use the Poser Graph editor a lot. This is just a test of lip sync and render time. And I'll have to animate the whole figure for the movie. And I still owned Carrara 6, I don't know if there's a Mimic plugin for this version. Thanks for the comment!

You could try the fbx or alembic exporter from DS, but I think you'd be better off getting a copy of Mimic which ypu can use the output in DS or Poser. It works similar to Lipsync. Also there is version available for Cararra. You might try exporting a .cr2 from DS (after applying lypsync in DS) never tried that though.

Thanks for the tips! I believe I'll need some automatic lip sync to save time when I start animating the scenes. And I like your Van Damme vs Cats animation lol :)

They used to sell mimic as a stand alone, I see Mimic Carrara and Mimic DS, and they have Mimic Lite (doesn't support genesis its under 10) its a matter of also having the mimic phenom file for your character (or you make them). I haven't used it sadly so I cannot comment but Carrara has a Graph Editor, sequencer and NLA Clips and AniBlocks as well for animation.

I made some tests with Mimic for Carrara and Mimic3 StandAlone, I prefer the standalone version but it's always a base before an edition into Carrara (to much keyframes). My problem is similar as LeaLee, I speack french... but I have better results with a keyframing by hand directly in Carrara.
