Last night I went to make my first renders in DS 4.8 since installing everything & working with my V4 character & clothing, props, etc. I decided to just try the Default render settings for 3Delight, and found that in some of my renders, her face is rendered light grey or white with no detail.
Her eyes, eyelashes, mouth, lips, hair and the entire rest of her body are the proper color, but just her face skin is light gray or maybe more like silver.
I've narrowed the problem down to using a skin Vascularity LIE that ZevO made a few years ago when I used it with my last version of DAZ(4.0). It worked fine back then and I never ran into this problem before. Actually, it's a Preset that I had made and saved as a DUF file. If I do NOT apply it, the render is fine. Btw, it doesn't show at all in the image, but ONLY in the render after I apply the Vascularity. If I Undo the Vascularity LIE, it renders fine.
So considering I've already applied the Vascularity to several files, is there a way to remove it after saving the files & closing them? Or is there a workaround to fix the silver face problem after the fact, but before rendering?

Is there an error message? Render and then go to Help>Troubleshooting>Show Log and scroll to the end to check.

Hi Richard,
Nope, no error messages. Apparently the render engine assumes her face is supposed to be silver. Even though as I'm looking at it within DS it's her normal, flesh color & detailed facial skin.
I've done the render using the render window & also direct to file. I also tried it using IRay(default settings again), and got tired of waiting after several minutes so stopped the render. But even though it looked predictably grainy, it still showed the same silver face effect. I don't know why. The rest of her body is perfectly normal. I see vascularity in the rest of her body with no adverse effect or discoloration of her skin.

I'm not sure if I have a vascularity set for V4 from Zev0 - was it a store product or a freebie? Do you have a link so I can see if it looks familiar, and try it out if I have it?

If it's the one I think it is (I have the Poser version), it was a product here at Rendo at one point, but I believe Zev0 closed the entire shop. Here's the page left from it: https://www.renderosity.com/mod/bcs/vascularity-for-daz/96152

Too bad ZevO closed his shop here. It was a store product. Anyway, the Genesis 2 & 3 versions of the product are at the main DAZ site. But unfortunately not for Victoria series anymore as mine is. SimonWM has a similar product but only for V5 & 6. And the vascularity maps he has won't match that of the vascularity in my girl I got from Zev0. I still have most of the old renders so if I change products, she won't look the same.
But anyway, here's Zev0''s available vascularity products: Oh, wait, I just remembered. The last time I posted a link to the DAZ store, the Rendo admin deleted my message because apparently that's not allowed here. Anyway, just go to the DAZ store & type in Vascularity, and you'll find it.
I still can't figure out why applying a vascularity LIE preset would do that to her face, when her face is the one part of her body where no vascularity was ever present at all. It doesn't make sense. Also, the background behind her is not that color; I just don't know where that's coming from.

That's odd, the readme on the page Vaskania linked has presets and their thumbnails but no maps at all - if that reflects the content of the zip then I would think it would fail, though I'd also expect it to complain about missing files.

I would suggest sending Zev0 a PM at Daz, he's often active on the forums there (find a post by him, click his name, and on the profile page click the Message button to the upper-right of the page).
