AM I unique in finding this idea of three-hour sales is counter-productive? I am often unable to match the window so lose out on any 'bargain'. It is leading me to not even bother to look, so as a result other purchases are going by the board.

I agree with you.

Several people have already voiced this opinion, too, a couple weeks back.

I believe that these short term sales are mainly designed as attention-getters for the vendor and his products.

I bought one product that way, and I was grateful for the discount as I wouldn't have paid retail or even the periodic sale price for it. But I missed the window on another one, so it's now on my wishlist (which is maybe what they really want to achieve, LOL).

Well, it won't work, for everyone not following those sales because (s)he isn't able to be online when Renderosity decides just deletes the "Exclusive Vendor Sales" newsletters. Why would I read them when I can't use those sales anyway? Just to waste my time, or for the pleasure to know there will be an opportunity I'll have to miss?

It's more a "feel good" feature for Renderosity, probably so they can say they do sales without losing too much money by having actual sales. And yes, there has been a longish complaint thread about that right at the beginning of that fad, and Renderosity just replied something along the lines of "tough luck", so don't bother complaining, it's not like your opinion matters.

I was thinking the same thing. I wish the business world would realize that in the long run they'd gain more profit by being honest rather than using all these silly tricks. It's just putting people off.

I don't know if it's a typo or not, but today's exclusive sales are listed as being from 9pm to 9am. 3d-age's store is listed as being on sale from 3am-6am.

Is that a joke? Do they really expect people to wake up in the middle of the night to buy something?

If this isn't a simple typo, this may be one of the worst things I've ever seen this website pull on customers. Exclusive sales in the middle of the freakin' night? Seriously? Why bother even putting things on sale to begin with?

Actually 3AM Renderosity time is 20:00 (8PM) the day before, where I am. So the sales start here at 4PM and ends 4AM next day.

I stayed up late for a vendor's 3 hour sale and it never actually adjusted. The items still say they don't work with a coupon (which is the terms of the sale) and the prices of the vendor's products never discounted :( This 3 hour sale rotation plan is horrible. It should be 24 hour. I feel really burned that I stayed up and the sale isn't working at all...

Interesting. A post I made on this in reply to one of the staff seems to have been removed from this thread. Not sure why, it wasn't offensive or against the TOS. The staff member seems to have removed their reply as well. My point was it seemed like the website had a hiccup that ruined the sales during the time frame, as the automated process to update items on sale seemed to have failed. I also stated that the vendor had their sales during that time period hurt. I had no contact with the vendor. It was my observation based on my own experience in trying to purchase several items during the sale using the sale coupon and not being accepted on many items. If anything I meant no disrespect to the staffer who replied and sincerely apologize if I offended that staffer. If anything I have the utmost respect for that staffer who keeps a positive mood and politeness in dealing with all in their postings (and dealings) with customers.

Ah my mistake, I'm mixing threads here... the other thread about the same subject (sort of) still has the posts.
