I don't know how to save things as Daz files, but I can tell you that getting the model into Daz is easy just use the "Import" feature which I believe in in the "file" dropdown menu (I can't be sure because I don't have Daz installed on this particular computer). You might have to load the textures manually, tho.

OBJ files can be seen if they are in a folder under Other Import Formats in the Content Library pane - you will have to add a folder there, I don't think a default is defined, so make a folder on disc (say "Objects for DS"), then right-click on the Other Import Formats header in the Content Library pane and choose the Add .. Directory option, select your folder. If you unzip the Starcruiser to the Objects for DS (or a subfolder) I think you will be able to find it and import it directly - though I admit I always use File>Import.

I purchased a product that wasn't very clear if it worked in Daz or not. Starcruiser By Sevein
The files in the folder are Starcruiser.mtl and Starcruiser.obj. Then a subfolder called "Maps" that has all the jpg files. It looks like everything I need for Daz Studio, is there a good tutorial on how to add these to Daz's content library? I'm familiar with merging files and the general structure of the runtime folder.
