That is definitely a fantasy photo! I love it! So many thoughts run through my head when I look at it. Have you ever watched The Addams Family? I thought it was a floral Mr. It at first. I've noticed that the photos have been big on here. It's okay if the photos are big, it's just more for us to look at and enjoy. :)

I saw some chairs stacked up in a church hall and thought "I could lose myself in there" so I took a photo of them. Then, when I got home I remembered I'd taken a selfie for my Facebook profile picture and decided to combine the two. This is the result.

I like that Jacomina! It looks they're having a nice fantasy in the bubble. The reflections on the glass help add scenery to the bubble world. I would like to have my own island paradise in a bubble.
Caroline, your photo turned out great! The chairs look like a whole other world from that perspective. I like the combination of your selfie and the chairs. It looks like you're really lost in there.

Could I enter another one please? I went for a walk in the woods today and I came across this. It's a toadstool carved from an old tree stump! There was nothing to indicate who'd done it or why.

The subject isn't unusual, but I think the treatment is. I live in Winchester, a small town in the south of England, which has a famous cathedral. Since I live here, it's very difficult to find anything in town (especially the cathedral) which I or countless others haven't photographed many times. However, it had been raining hard yesterday and I happened to be taking a short cut through the cathedral grounds and noticed its reflection in a large puddle - which got me thinking about an "Alice through the Looking Glass" effect, the stories of "drowned cathedrals" and what might happen if I could go through the puddle into the world behind the reflection.

Well...me car is broken, so I won't be going anywhere to take photos any time soon!!! Here is MY ENTRY, even though the image isn't mine, and I'll be disqualified this month! Found a great image on Deviantart, and did some photo manipulation in GIMP.

snowcrow1, you're not disqualified. The photos you use in a photo manipulation can be yours or somebody else's as long as they're free for personal use, free for personal and commercial use, free for any use, or public domain. As long you got them in the correct manner, you can use them. I love your photo manipulation! I can feel the electric energy coming off the image. I'm sorry to hear about your car. Cars are so unpredictable, you never know when or where they're going to breakdown. I hope your car feels better soon! :)

Hi Marian! I'm doing great! I had a nice relaxing weekend. I hope you're doing well too! I like your photo! When I look at it, I think of all things that are white and fluffy, such as snow, cotton, lambswool, clouds, and etc. I like how the light and fluffy material plays against the dark tone and coarseness of the brick. I want to reach out and touch everything in your photo. :)

I like it Marian, it's a very interesting photo! It tricks your mind. One minute it looks like a parsley root and another minute it looks like a bunch of worms coming out of a hole and if you turn your head and look at the photo again it looks like a nest. You're capturing some good stuff. I would like you and everyone in this thread to know that The Unusual Subjects now has its own gallery! I'm sending out a sitemail about the new gallery and I thought I better copy and paste part of the sitemail here too. Here it is:
I just wanted to let you know that The Unusual Subjects activity has its own gallery now. You're free to use whatever medium you want in your images and you're free to enter more than one image now. You can find The Unusual Subjects Gallery by going to the top of the website and clicking on the Galleries tab and then clicking on Sections. You will see Unusual Subjects towards the bottom of the page in between TrueSpace and VistaPro. You can still link to or post your images in the photography and mixed medium forums too. I think we'll have an easier time seeing each other's work now in the gallery. If you created an image for the activity in May or June and would like to move it to the gallery, then you're free to do so. I have pasted a link to the gallery below. Oh yeah, I forgot to say that June's unsusual subject is The Living Room, just in case you decide to enter an image this month. A few members were getting confused about what images in the Unusual Subjects Gallery were for the monthly challenge and which ones weren't, so the non-challenge related images will now be moved to their correct gallery. I think some members may not know what the Unusual Subjects Gallery is for, so to make it a little clearer that the gallery is for a monthly challenge i would like to ask you all if you can put the title of your entries in this format, Your Title - "Month" Unusual Subjects Entry, so it should look like this, The Dark Room - June Unusual Subjects Entry. If you have any questions about this or anything pertaining to the challenge, then feel free to leave a comment below or sitemail me. I hope you all are having a wonderful week!

I started a new thread with some new Unusual Subjects information in it, but I thought I should add it here too. Here it is:
Hello everybody! The Unusual Subjects Challenge is constantly evolving and I thought I should update the rules and information for the challenge. The background history of the challenge is still the same. For those that don't know what the challenge is about, then here's a snippit of what it is about. I asked coordinators, moderators, and members for various subject matter, it could be a word, a phrase, an emotion, a scene, a place, an object, or etc. and every month I type those subjects into the randomizer on Random.org and whatever subject it chooses is the subject matter you have to use or create in your image for that month. Now it's time for me to introduce the new changes to the challenge, the challenge now has two categories and they are:

So there it is, The Unusual Subjects is going to get even more fun and exciting! I hope to see the same familiar members enter their amazing images and give awesome comments to their fellow members about their images and I hope to see some new members too!
