Sounds like fun and right up my alley, but I have a ton of questions! Are we allowed to use existing trademarked characters or do we invent our own? And do they actually have to be a superhero or can they be a comic book/game/sci-fi character or one that we create that don't have actual super powers, but fit in that genre by their wardrobe, or weapons, etc...? Is manga/anime included? Or if they're a bad guy, are they still a hero? Can they be aliens and/or creatures? Sorry for all the questions LOL! I sell my art at comic book conventions so the possibilities for this seem endless! Thanks.

Hi Wonderland
You can use existing characters or create your own Superhero. They do have to be a Superhero or a character that would fit the theme.
If the bad guy has a superpower and you would want to be him, that would be okay as well. They could be a creature with a superpower or a "super human" power such as "super human strength". "Thing" from Fantastic Four is more of a creature with "super human" strength.
I think it's very cool that you sell your art and look forward to seeing what you create.

Oh, I didn't realize it had to be yourself! That changes everything LOL. I'm pretty sure I'll create my own character cause I'm kind of sick of "Fan" art. Now to come up with an original superpower...

From Wikipedia: "Unlike most superheroes, Batman does not possess any superpowers; rather, he relies on his genius intellect, physical prowess, martial arts abilities, detective skills, science and technology, vast wealth, intimidation, and indomitable will." Or is he a "character that would fit the theme"?

This isn't clear in the contest rules page. It just says your description must say what software you used and how long it took.

Ahhh! I'm excited you guys are having a contest, but why aren't you advertising it on the front page? Like as a slide in that overly massive banner at the top or even as a smaller item below? I had no idea there was a contest at all...and I really want to enter!

It really depends on what place one would get as to which items they get.
There are some comic books, a blanket, playing cards, etc.
This is why I just listed it as a "superhero prize pack".
