was thinking, if a prime membership, could mean that expired clearance items could still be bought at a prime price for members !!!

I suggested this a year ago, they said they would consider it. Haven't heard anything since.

We have talked about it before, and we have not forgotten about it.
It is still on our list of suggestions for Prime and it is what gave us the idea of the bringing back the clearanced items the couple of times we've done it so we really appreciate the suggestion

If discontinued items comes back as a Prime perk, I might consider resubscribing. Just saying
