I've renewed my efforts to learn blender. I've been watching tutorials and things are going ok except I'm having a problem while in edit mode with seeing a portion of the lines of an object through other faces despite the shading mode being set to solid. And I can see them through other objects. It's causing me to go crosseyed. I don't see it in the videos so I'm guessing it's some setting I need to change.
Here is what I'm seeing
Here's the direction of the normals
Here is the object properties

It looks like a normal issue, but I can't figure out any specific cause. Do the faces in the center have any thickness?
It is better to do one thing well, than to do many things and excel at nothing.

No, they don't. The center one will do it too depending on how I angle the camera.

The normals appear to be facing the correct direction. It could be an issue with either your display drivers, or clipping distance. Check your clipping distance parameters first. You can find them here:

Looks like I had the clipping start set too small. All fixed. Thanks.

Yeah, good catch. I never would think clipping.
