Subject: wearables geometries shell tattoos ?

Does the wearable geometries .Mean Powerage did not paint the tattoos straight on to Vicky. but he made another mesh for the tattoos and then attached he's tattooed mesh to Vicky ?

If Powerage did make another mesh for the tattoos and then attached he's tattooed mesh to Vicky ,Why didn't he just paint the tattoos straight on to Vicky ?

Because this way you can use it with any character texture more easily? It's a DS product for G3F, so maybe it's easier this way than through materials, dunno never used DS. It's sort of like Jepe's Hairy where another geometry of M4 is used to add body hair on a pre-existing character.

DS has the ability to create Geometry shells for any object, its a shell and therefore takes up a lot less memory; they are being used quite a lot now for several purposes, the new bodysuit at Daz uses them. They are easy enough to create with an object selected just go to create and select Create New Geometry Shell, you get a choice of how you want the geometry shell to attach, the shell has the same uv and mat zones as the original, pretty useful things. I don't know Poser well enough to know if it has anything equivalent.

With to days PC's n Genesis lower polycount it's more doable. But V4's high polycount n her body suit high poly count on the stone age PC's where ruff.

Geometry shells sounds like copy paste mesh we've been able to do this in any main app for decades but more meshes still use more memory n resources.

Actually after I thought about it. If you wanted to use ya tattooed texture with multiple skin textures. It would be a lot more simple to just apply the tattoos to the skin texture. extra meshes n all are not necessary.

If you can find the "advanced shaders" from shaderworks (used to be free at RDNA, do not know where to find now) and are willing to learn, it is possible to create tattoos that can be applied to any texture for a given character. Now you made me curious as to how to make tats with shaders ,LOL.I would have never thought to use shaders for tats. but I swore to stop going down ever fascinating road n to finish Diamond.

I'll use MS5 for Diamonds tats ,Well if she wants tats ;)

The Inked series at the store here was an efficient way to add tattoos and I'm pretty sure I remember that they were updated for the python scripts to work.https://www.renderosity.com/mod/bcs/inked-vol-10-the-little-things/105328/ Makeup overlays work like this as well and a lot can be achieved through the material room in Poser.
