I am rather disappointed about payment methods here. The fact that it seems without using Paypal..you cant purchase stuff. I have been a member here for years and have bought lots of stuff in the past via paypal, but when I tried to do so with just my debit card alone..no go / declined. This is not a problem at that "other" place with my debit card ,,,ever. It is just that I feel I don't need paypal linked to all my transactions online these days. I may only be able to use it that "other" place, but to be honest I feel some fo the best stuff is here.. too bad I cant buy it..and too bad that the vendors / artists perhaps are losing out on some potential sales because of this. I hope rosity upgrades their system to address this someday

That's weird ... I've used my debit card for purchases in the past, and it's gone through okay. Maybe something is wonky just now?

A debit card should be no issue. I think Rhiannon is on the right track and something is wonky.

yes perhaps, but I have tried every angle to get this to work.. even updating payment method, etc..and still no go. I am a vet and I get my money put on that card every month..and I can be pretty sure..more than adequate amount is put there to perhaps make a $20 purchase around here.. I just dont understand why it is refused here, but not by the "other" place.. and during my history since becoming a 3d fan..I have purchased more here than there over the years :( some say link paypal to it..but there is no way I will put my entire monthly lifeline in the hands of paypal..too many horror stories about that

I would suggest posting the issue in the Marketplace Customer Support Forum, and also emailing store@renderosity.com with the issue as well ... I'm sure someone can get to the bottom of this.

You are not alone, I am locked out of the marketplace as well!

I tried the same thing, even had them update my info manually, and I also started a new account, but no dice as I'm still locked out! My guess, is if you're using a federally-issued debit-card (Direct express) it won't take for some idiotic reason.

That's the only thing I can think of as this site is based in Tennessee and I would not put it past the state's lawmakers for using that mandate, it's bad enough we're being taxed on digital items that have no manufacturing costs whatsoever!

I detest this crappy new system, as I've been a member here since 2003, I haven't been able to purchase anything here due to that idiotic error in this new system, it really burns me up, and I don't think they'll update it at all as theres only two people with this issue! Plus, this IS the "new updated system..."

Thanks for the info takezo3001m and yes you are right, I also use Direct Express. So I guess with that in mind there is no point of me attempting purchases here any longer. Sad that an American company wont accept an American payment, even more sad to a lot of merchants that will not have this method as an avenue for sales. Guess I will head over to the other guys (reluctantly) because I wont revert back to paypal and all their stupid fees, etc. As I said before though, some of the best merchants and deals are here. As far as Tennessee rules, well a wild guess here but I am pretty certain even folks in Tennessee are paid this way each month as well, and probably have no problem using the card about anywhere they shop, etc

Indeed, I do hope some of the staff take note of this as there's more than a few grey-beards/tresses that are retired/Vets that are using the same form of card, so maybe they gave up without raising a stink, if they were to speak up, well that would help us as at least our voices won't be in such the minority here! I think it's just a matter of enabling that form of payment, as the rest of the Internet has no problem using it, just this site!

I find it mind-boggling that a Internet marketplace would exclude people from doing business by punishing folks that use direct express! I too won't touch paypal as they're pretty unreliable, especially with their fees and security! It would really help if there were more venders from here over at RDNA! Heh, I already spent too much on other sites and yes, they do have incredible venders here, too bad the marketplace system is screwed up!

Hello Everyone,

Is Direct Express a card that you can register?

When we changed the site, nothing was changed within the checkout system and payments we accept.

If it is a card that can be registered, you have to call the toll free number (or go online of applicable) and register your card. Be sure the information being entered into the checkout area is the exact information you registered the card with.

As long as the information matches, you will have no problem checking out 😄

We did up the security with all of the online fraud going on around the world to keep our customers, Vendors, and ourselves as protected as possible as well as to hopefully stay having one of the lowest fraud rates for an online store.

Please let me know if you need further assistance.

I tried that KristiS, I even talked to someone there on the phone about it, giving them the card info..and it still would not work. I know the card is good, been using it for quite a few years now, and I am definitely the person the card is assigned to. Not all of the 3D world fans are young folk..which seems to be the group every industry caters to these days..but we are just as willing to buy as they are..so hope your company can fix this, I dont want to get stuck just shopping at the "D" word company. I use the V4 model a lot still and surprisingly they dont seem to support it as much as they do here, not to mention limited selection of other concepts too. This is not to say they are a bad place, but I like the idea of more than one choice when I need new models, etc. I have enjoyed rosity a long time..people here are helpful in the forums when I have 3D questions, and most act like they appreciate doing business with me as well :)
