How would you like me to host some Poser Webinars here at Renderosity? If so ... what topics would you like?

I would like to see a webinar on Dynamic Clothing. I have not found good information on how fit clothing to a heavily morphed figure (like bulging muscles) and pose the figure with clothing. I have only found info when the clothing item and the figure are already matched up.

That is a great idea, on the list!

Ok, first webinar will be on the hair room. Is everyone ok with that? I will need some time to put it all together as I've never put one on before, so be patient. It's coming!

Great! I'd love to see a more detailed approach to adding hair to animal figures as well.
Boni posted Tue, 11 October 2016 at 12:18 PM
I haven't tried that personally, but I will do research on those who have.

Like this.
I did a written tutorial for this type of thing. It may be behind a log in. I can check. It is quite old but still works fine. Poser's hair room could indeed do with an update
Boni posted Tue, 11 October 2016 at 4:23 PM
Could you give me a link to that tutorial. I would like to refer to it in my webinar. Everyone who helps will be given credit. This isn't a one person project.

http://pfdlives.com/pfd/index.php?topic=4524.0 You need a free account. Sorry about that. It is simple enough to do. Just wire up your texture to the root and the tip of the strand for the material. These are old pp2012 quick renders to illustrate the points. The thread is 3 pages long and explains how to do a lot more than just these things.

Thank you very much, the viewers will love this I am sure!

Honestly folks, I suggest you all follow parkdalegardener's tutorial. It is wonderful and very helpful to get you all started. It will be referred to in the Webinar/Tutorial.

Thank you parkdalegardener, this looks like a great tutorial! Is there any way we could save it? The print version does not have the images and when trying to convert to .pdf I can't get the whole image.
Boni posted Wed, 12 October 2016 at 6:33 AM
You can build your own PDF in Word with copy and paste ... sectioning with text and images. You will obviously have to format it yourself, but you will get all the information ... it parkdalegardener is agreeable of course.

Do as you will. It's just simple info and a few screen grabs. I'm old and hurting and don't post much. If there are questions I will answer them there at PFD
EClark1894 posted Wed, 12 October 2016 at 9:27 AM
If you still need some ideas for a webinar, Boni, have you considered doing several together like some of Poser's little known features? Magnets, Wind Force, and Bullet Physics?
Boni posted Wed, 12 October 2016 at 12:34 PM
If this goes well, that is my plans. I want folks to have a full tool box of Poser features they are comfortable with.

I'd love to see a comprehensive fitting room webinar (or tutorial) for something more complicated than close fitting clothing , eg going step by step for a long dress with body handles. (The poser manual talks about using the grouping tool, buts that something I've never used.)
Boni posted Thu, 27 October 2016 at 9:35 AM
Thanks Nails60, that is going on my list, hopefully for Session 3. Thank you

Some know that I am doing something special, but here some extra info.
Very known is the scullcap to grow dynamic hair on. Few know that you can grow hair directly on the figure too.
Now on to the hairs.
Style them using the style tools. Simm them by running a dynamic hair simm.
Do nothing and go back to the pose room => Now style your hair using magnets => Yes you can select the hairs and comb them using magnets.
Next, ha-ha,
Or?????
When you grow the hair directly on the figure? => Create a morph for the head to make the hair flow different; Or? When you used a scullcap? Create a morph for the scullcap to get the hair to flow differently.
And, of course, any combination of the above is possible too.
Oeps, almost forgot => Control where the hair grows (or not) by using a transmap.

I'm seeing people, including myself, struggling with the concept of Poser lighting. Maybe a webinar on how to get better lighting in Poser might be a good one. Again, I might suggest a team up with someone who already knows a lot about the subject. I would suggest Traveler or Colm, but as there's a chance they might say no because of their association with DAZ now I'd understand if that's not possible.
Boni posted Wed, 23 November 2016 at 9:44 AM
As far as lighting goes ... I have done a lot of research on lighting myself ... and welcome more input. Of course you may know about the thread at SM about natural lighting and that would totally by part of a Webinar on the subject. I took some courses in 3d modeling with Lightwave and had a marvelous book and instructor that did a great deal of work on lighting. I've also studied lighting on my own as a traditional artist with a BA in art. Always ready for input, but I do have a core set of skills as well. I agree about Traveler and Colm ... I'm friends with them on fb. I might ask ... who knows.

I bought one of Colm's Renderstudio modules but for the life of me I don't see anything I didn't already know. What I'd like is a practical demonstration of how he lights his scenes, preferably using the modules.
Boni posted Wed, 23 November 2016 at 4:51 PM
If and more likely when I would not reference a commercial product since that would be unfair to the participants. They need to be able to follow as the webinar progresses. Lighting can be a lot of fun ... I would cover lighting for legacy versions with firefly as well as P/PP 11 Superfly lights. This will most likely be the third or fourth in the series if this takes off.

I'd love a lighting webinar; if for nothing else then to combat the 'Poser look' of many renders I see all too often. Also would welcome another Fitting Room one, it's still a hit and miss and many fear to use it.
Thank you for asking for input!
