I have been using the search feature to read through all my old Renderosity forum thread posts starting with the oldest (dated 4:02AM Wed, 07 July 1999). In those old messages, the text is always de-formatted, which I can cope with; but their attached images are also gone, leaving a "torn sheet of paper" icon instead, and the attached image was often the main reason for the message.

At a message posted at 8:59AM Wed, 16 March 2005 I at last ran into 3 messages which still have their attached images; but after then the images are gone again.

What caused loss of all those old images?

At around the start of 2006 I have got into a patch where the images are fairly consistently preserved.

Just here or are you finding this elsewhere on older site AA?

Sorry I meant other sites. This past week or two I have had links provided to me that I am getting broken images and the format issues.

The oldest message that I wrote that this search found was posted at 8:28AM Mon, 28 June 1999. When did Renderosity start?

Somewhere here I have a archive of the home landing pages the from history of Rendo. Don't hold me to it date wise but it was around that time 1999. I must try to dig it up for the long term members such as yourself it would be a blast from the past. There is a chance that in this timeframe with the site after undergoing a few facelifts would unfortunately lose access to some of these pages/images via broken links.
