Subject: Why don't third party content show up under the smart pane?

I put my Rendrosity stuff under the correct folders, people, props, etc under my library but they don't show up under the smart tab. If I click on Victoria 7 and then look at the clothing, characters and such, the third party content is not there. I have to go searching thru the other tab. This makes things really confusing. Am I doing something wrong?

If I am not mistaken, there may not be any metadata packaged with the content. You can try contacting the vendors to determine if there is any metadata update, or review this youtube video, https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=69uIKMZ7zZk&t=972s, which details how to create your own product metadata and have the content appear in DAZStudio Smart Tab.

Thank you, it's time intensive to add this for every product you buy, I guess none of the vendors I have bought from included one. I wish they would. But it'll save me time in the long run to do, so I guess I need to get going. Thanks!

okay, so I did this for a character, and all her textures are showing up under the figures. anyone know how to get them under materials?

Its a pretty involved process to do it right. You need to make sure that you set the Type to Preset > Materials for each of the actual Material files, and you also need to make sure you set the Compatibility to the right mesh. in this picture I highlighted where you need to set the Type, and the Compatibility

And you also need to make sure you set the Categories. If you miss one of these, it won't show up or it won't show up where you want it. metadata2.JPG

Thank you, what a pain in the butt. I probbaly won't do that now since I have a bunch of stuff unless I decide to just start over from scratch with Daz,

It can be worth the effort. I hardly ever leave smart content anymore. I'd rather put in that effort for products I am going to use than to go hunting for them in my content library, where they could be anywhere

True, I just wish I had found this out earlier. I have a bunch of products now..
