With SuperFly having come to Poser and iRay having come to DAZ Studio, the old method of painting facets on a cabochon just don't look good anymore. (Honestly, if you were using any sort of realistic shader, they never did, but with Superfly and iRay they look even worse.) I've seen proper facets on jewelry by Fisty (most of which is Studio-only these days, sadly), Mihrelle, and freebie-creator CCox. There are probably others I'm missing, but still we really need more properly modeled jewelry, especially rings and especially for Poser.
