What is the best method of creating morphs in a object created in blender?

I made a cat bed. Would like to make depressions in the surface. To correspond to a cat model's pose. Have tried with sculpting. Had a hard time controlling the brush. Is it possible to use soft body physics? To more or less lower the cat model onto the bed model to make the depressions? Or is there other options that might work better? Looking for options.

I would just select some vertices in edit mode and use proportional editing to move them down a bit to make a rough indent. You probably don't need it to be exactly form fitting. :)

You could also try using dynamic paint (just google and you'll find tons of video examples) to either create a displacement map or actual displacement, but I think the proportional editing route is probably better in this case.

Another option might be to bake an AO map and use that to create a displacement map - it won't help much with making a morph but might look good enough to use depending on your purpose.

Thanks for the information. I forgot about proportional editing. Displacement maps are beyond what I can do. Never had a single drawing class. and can't draw a straight line let alone do anything with detail. Thought about taking classes but there are none in my area. The ones that are available are way to far to drive for me. In another county and more than an hour away.

I know this tutorial is for clothing but it might give you a few options and further information that could be useful in what you wish to accomplish https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=npue0bHmjkk&t=1s

I know this is a Blender forum, but if the end goal is to use the bed in Poser then the easiest solution would be to use the Morph Brush in Poser to create the depression. You can then save the object in the Poser library or use the brush on a scene by scene basis.

Lobo3433 Thanks for the video. Am going to watch it tonight. So I don't get interrupted.

false1 I tried that but could not get the Morph Brush to stay on the object I wanted. It kept jumping to the cat figure. And got frustrating real quick.
