The following products are in your wishlist and we are offering you a special coupon for these items ONLY! This will help you get what you want for Christmas! From 12am Wednesday, December 14th thru 11:59pm (CST) on Friday, December 16th, you can save an additional 50% off these items with a $5 minimum purchase. Good on sales items!

Okay, so I just went to take a look at the items list on the wishlist coupon. And I am seriously confused. Many of the items on that page, that the system seems to THINK are currently ON my wishlist are things I either have already bought, or that are flat out not even ON my wishlist in the first place. What?? And yet, this coupon is only valid for the specific items on the coupon page that the system decided are "on my wishlist"?

So let's look at the list of items on that page. Out of the 35 items on this page which dictates the coupon is "only good on these items", only 5 were actually ON my wishlist, and NOT already purchased! And of those five items, your coupon was only even valid on ONE of them, despite the text on the coupon page saying that it was also "Good on sale items!"

It really looks like your system just grabbed a random selection of items out of the marketplace. This is NOT a group of items "currently on your wishlist," to use with the "wishlist coupon." This is a random group of items out of the marketplace, 5 of which just happen to be ON my wishlist, which is bound to happen anyway since my wishlist is 13 pages long. And no, of course the coupon does not work with any other items off of my wishlist.

I'm declining to bother using the coupon. I'm not making a purchase. The only item on there is the Pretty Base IV, which while I think is lovely for V4, I just can't justify buying it at this point because I can do my own skins and morphs just fine. I actually removed it from my wishlist, because I don't plan to buy it.

Anyway. I was just really confused. There were quite a few things the system could have chosen from my list and I would have made a purchase immediately with this coupon. But the random marketplace selection of item that I already OWN, or are NOT even ON my wishlist and are NOT the sorts of things I would buy in the first place? Thanks, but no thanks.

In the future, if you're going to do sales like these, please make sure that the list of items it produces are ACTUALLY on the customer's wishlist, okay? I probably WOULD have made a purchase if it had actually given me a selection out of my wishlist, not just a random 5 items, 4 of which were NOT valid with the coupon (I don't think Fabiana allows coupons anyway, though).

The method or algorithm used here was very poor. Just consider this constructive feedback for the next time you try to do a sale like this. That's all.

Thanks. :)

The system did not choose the items. The items were selected from the top wishlisted products. Got the top 50 or so, which we are doing in groups and then pulled back those that had ANY of those items in this week's group. We then sent out the email to anyone on the list that had 1 or more of those items featured this week. 😄

Ahhh... so it was from the top 50 across the entire site then. Alright. For some reason that was not clear in the email or on the site page. The wording in those statements made it sound like they were pulling from each person's own list for the offer. That explains the mechanics of the sale better. Perhaps a little clarification in the language used on the announcements might have helped avoid that confusion.

Thanks for the clarification.
