Anybody got an eye morph for the Posette for upward slanting Japanese eyes?

Check out MorphWorld. Remember, Asian eyes don't actually slant, there's a fold of skin below your eyebrow called the levator which slopes inward above the upper eyelid in non-Asians, but in Asians hangs straight down hiding the upper eyelid (creating the "epicanthic fold" and creating the illusion of a straight-down eyelid). There's a tiny ligament or muscle responsible for pinning the levator back into the eyesocket; this ligament is atrophied in Asians. When and if you get Vicky, check out my morph for this at clik.to/dtoybox.Crescent posted Wed, 09 May 2001 at 1:05 PM
Are you going to do a morph for Michael sometime? The morph for Vicki looks great!

I ought to, considering they were done with magnets. Setting up the grouping is the major bitch here, and I think I'll end up using MT Mirror for symmetry.

Duane- do you have a Japanese Eyes morph for P4?. Almost all the other morphs I've seen don't do the eyelid thing...

Actually I'm not sure I tried this one- Fem Face Pack 46 (66K) 2 Morphs - Asian Eye Fold 1, Asian Eye Fold 2 Is that a good one?...

This website has some totally stunning P4 Girls, some of the best P4 Girls I've seen anywhere. (They even out-do Vicky in the looks department). I would like to turn "Emma" into a Japanese babe. She already has the face, I just want to Japaneyes her eyes... "Talia" looks to me like a Filapina babe already...duanemoody posted Thu, 10 May 2001 at 10:04 AM
For the record, as a site maintainer of full head P4F morphs, Ghise's are so good I've had to put out a contract on him. Debbie in particular makes me look like an amateur; if Ghise did that nose with no outside modelers I'll have to go back to Remedial Poser 101. Anyhoo, to answer your question about Fem Face Pack 46: The Eyefold morph covers the inner corner part but not the rest. The Eyefold2 morph is cleaner but only affects the left eye. I could swear I have found a better one but I can't find it again. Let me keep looking...

Duane, I made an epicanthal fold morph for Michael's right eye that I was fairly pleased with, but when I tried MT Mirror to mirror it over to the left eye, I got an error message on Michael's head. Asked on the list, and concluded that his head isn't symmetrical. So I'd love to know if you get it to work. Don't know when I'll have time to get the other eye to match. I'm guessing/hoping Michael 2 will have this morph (and much better than I can make), but meanwhile, it would sure be nice to have one available. TIA

The head isn't symmetrical? Damn. I was told that Zygote/DAZ designed all their heads in LightWave on the half, then mirrored them along the Y axis.

Please don't take my semi-informed word for it! But I got that message for both Michael and Vicky's head when I tried to use MT Mirror. However, I've never successfully used that utility. If you have, you may have better luck than I did. I asked around a bit and know folks have used it for breast morphs and such, but didn't heard back specifically about these heads. Do let me know if it works for you. I hope to get back to Michael's eyes once I get a few projects taken care of, but probably not until June. If I get a reasonably symmetrical morph, would you like to see it? (Assuming I can get it in a form that's legal to share.)

Vicky's head is symmetrical; I looked into it when I was trying to write a Mac port of MT Mirror. Remember, all the P3/P4 figures were designed by the same company that brings you Mike/Vicky. The trick for exporting morph targetable .OBJ files is to check every box EXCEPT "Weld vertices".

Thanks for the tip! I can't remember now all the variations I tried; will try again as soon as I get some time. I did find it hard to believe DAZ didn't mirror the heads, but know all it takes is one vertex different. I take it the Mac port didn't work out? The fewer things I have to do on the PC, the happier I be!
duanemoody posted Sun, 13 May 2001 at 10:25 AM
No, the Mac port is one of those things that got back-burnered. I'm not super proficient in C++, and the ancient copy of FutureBASIC I have is actually no less complicated to program. What's embarrassing is how disgustingly simple the code behind MT Mirror is; I haven't seen it, but I made a few educated guesses as to the basic algorithm, emailed Masa and he confirmed the method. Simple array transforms. Input seed mesh object to array, find matching left-right pairs, create hash table. Input morph mesh object to array, apply transformation based on user choice and hash table, output converted array. About the only change I'd make is to retain the hash tables as permanent resources; there are only about ten basic heads out there and their tables don't change. That way you don't have to keep exporting base heads. I agree about doing things on the PC; I work with both but it's not a great solution.
