I hope that the mention of the word isnt some violation or something, i tried searching the forums for info and surprised that NOTHING showed up in search. Has it all been redacted or something?!?

Anyway, I wanted Quidam for some time, and now that i am getting back into things come to find it is gone, only a demo version... Any options after the demo expires? I really wanted Quidamn and the Carrara plug.

Well, N-Sided Software has been out of business since 2010. All the technology has been bought up by Dassault Systems. The guy behind Quidam (Pierre Bretagnolle) was one of the original designers of the Amapi software, and is now a freelancer, according to his Linked In profile. Quidam was cool software, so it's a shame. You should try out Make Human, or if you use Blender then there's also a great plugin from http://www.manuelbastioni.com/manuellab.php

Thanks. I was really looking forward to using it. Are they going to re-release it, this other company? I really wanted it and the plug in that was for carrara...

I've played with many versions ofmake human, just installed the latest release this week.

Hate to start a new thread... Is FX Realm Creature Creator gone as well?!?

I seem to be missing out bigtime, 6 years can do a lot =P

I really highly doubt Dassault Systems will ever release it or update it again. Their native software suites include very high end modelling stuff for industrial use, like aeronautics engineering parts and such. Word is that they simply absorbed the Quidam company to acquire some bit of technology from them, and they never really wanted that particular software to resell or develop. So it's probably dead forever. FX Realm are also out of business, and Creature Creator is gone for good too. There are some old 3rd party resellers that may still sell it to you though, I'm not sure. I saw it available and advertised here:

I won't make the link active because it might be a TOS violation, not sure. I have no idea if that company is reliable, or if they are even still in business, but you can see they are still selling the Creature Creator product there.

I have that link, I'm too chicken to try it, but I know paypal is somewhat safe with regards to purchases like that (they'll refund full amount if anything).

If I get desperate enuff I'll try it out and let you guys know...

Actually, it might work, it's the same link they used when it was active.

Ha, ha. I'm too chicken to actually use it too. We need that kid in the neighborhood who was willing to try everything first!

I would be very cautious about purchasing as well, but as you say Paypal is probably a safe option in case things don't work out. Good luck to whomever tries!
