I've been trying to get into the Silo forum on CGSociety, but it's not taking my password and nobody has helped me with that since the 14th, so I thought I'd take a shot here.
I have made too many saves with multiple materials listed in the files, and have wound up with very, very long list that is dragging the program down. A few years ago I did this and was told of a way to fix it, but can't recall the details well enough to make it work now. I think I had to save the Silo (.sib) file as a Silo Ascii (.sia) file and open it with Notepad. I should be able to delete the unnecessary info, resave it as a .sib file, and be able open it again as a normal file in Silo with the materials list cleaned up. Can anybody fill in the missing details here? Thanks!

I regularly browse the forums on CGTalk, perhaps I can do a search for you regarding this. However, I don't see a forum for Silo anymore. Do they still have one?

Wow. Good question. I couldn't find it there either! I had searched through my old Nevercenter link, and at the very bottom, on the right, it mentions the "CGTalk Silo forums".
I did finally get a reply back for changing the password and was able to post my question. I will next inquire about the reason they hide that forum....
