I'll try restating the previous question regarding DSON and the DAZ figures, and maybe learn how to do this the right way :) I've had trouble with the DSON, so I ended up loading the M4/V4 files into a folder on the desktop where I could manually relocate them. This has worked since at least 2013. If I use the DSON, it directs the files to C:Users/Public/Public Documents/My DAZ 3D Library. I want these files to go into my external runtime folders, Model_M4 and Model_V4 and I don't know how to get them there this way. Manual relocation simply required copying the runtime and pasting it the Content runtime. That does not seem to be working here. Pro2012/Win7

All you have to do is map the runtimes IN Poser. This has worked since Poser 7.

  1. Open Poser.
  2. Find the library Pallet.
  3. Click the PLUS icon
  4. Capture.PNG
  5. Browse to the folder that contains the runtime you want to link. Mine looks like v4/Runtime & M4/Runtime Capture2.PNG
  6. Click OK
  7. the New runtime will appear in the Library.

VolcanicMink I think you are confusing people by talking about DSON when what you are actually having trouble with is the DAZ install manager (DIM). I believe you can change the download path by clicking on the toothed wheel icon at the top right when you open this, However I've never tried this myself. Maybe you could get more help from someone on the DAZ studio boards here. By the way, I've never managed to get the V4 morphs working properly by running the batch files myself, and had to use the DIM, but I just used the default location.

Path settings can be specified within DIM without any problem, but this needs to be done manually each time you install new content. I have multiple runtimes listed, as well as my DAZStudio content folder, under the preferences. Where V4/M4 and morph packages are concerned, everything must be installed into the same runtime, and definitely no multiple instances must appear anywhere else. Every time a morph package is installed, the batch files must be rerun to activate those new settings. Otherwise, they might not show up or work correctly.
