Hi everyone, I'm rather new to Blender (and pretty much anything 3d oriented), and I've been struggling with particles. The thing is, I have a model composed of a number of objects (namely body, arms, head, etc.), most of which have hair particles of their own, and I've been trying to figure out a way to join them without screwing up the particles. I think next time I try to do a similar thing I'll just wait until everything is modeled and joined before even thinking about adding any particles, but as of now, I'd like to find a way to make this one work. I read somewhere else that a way to work around this problem is to disconnect the hair particles in the particles section, then do any modifications needed, and reconnecting the hair afterwards, although I'm not sure this works when joining objects. I tried doing this, but it only led to one of the parts (or more, depending on how many I tried to join at a time) being left with no particles at all. I also tried converting the particles in the modifier section, having them as separate meshes, then joining the objects, and finally joining the new object with the particle meshes, but even though now I can see the particles as objects (and, logically, quite a few vertices and edges) in object/edit mode, they don't show up when rendering or loading a preview. Any way to go around this would be appreciated, I'm already out of ideas Thanks!

When modeling a body, everything should be one mesh (except for eyes, teeth, and probably clothing). Don't know what else to tell you except to redo the hair.
It is better to do one thing well, than to do many things and excel at nothing.

I have to agree with DramaKing advice I have no clue of any other way to do it except redoing the hair

You can assign the object to a vertex group. After you join them use this group on the particle sim tab. Set the density to this group. When joining select the object not in the particle system 1st to join. It seems to affect how it gets added to the particle sim.
