If you have Misty's G3 character preset that loads in Carrara, this thread can be a place for people to list G3 items that can be used along with it. Similarly, can list loading failures.

A good format might be

Item, by artist, for Figure, loads fine and conforms well

or

Item, by artist, for Figure, loads but does not conform well - perhaps it can be used with VWD

or

Item, by artist, for figure, does not load.

Example Tutu, by Diomede, for Freak 7 (fictional), loads and conforms well

Generic issue, I can not get the eye textures and the eyelashes to work. Can someone do a tutorial/work around to fix this issue. A screenshot showing The Exile with the problem is attached.

there's a few shaders for the eyelashes, cornea transparency, and eyemoisture transparency

in the carrara shaders tab under presets, shaders, skin, genesis 3 carrara, janette and johnathon

if there's a eyelashes with the creature, you would need to go to shader room and give the shader the path to the alpha mask

.

the iray opacity doesn't come over to carrara.

I had trouble 3DU Captain Charisma... the suit won't follow the G3 Captain body morph but will follow all other body morphs.. weird

I had to detach the Charisma suit bones in Carrara export as OBJ import into DS and transfer assets from G3 then do the usual... that worked.

will be interesting to see if the 3DU pixie does the same.. was a toss up between that and charisma for me yesterday on which to buy.

Misty & Stezza/Wonga, many thank-yous for the tips. I tried half a dozen things last night without success, better luck today with Misty's shaders. Will try Stezzas method for the next one I do.

Star 2 for g3f has her own uvs set. uvs are in the vendor's folder "littlefox"

she comes with extra geometry for eye lens, and eye socket. Trying to load the Eyes crashed carrara.

rendered with the star's uvs, without the extra lens and socket Calling it a semi-success .

think i forgot to change the iris uvs (doh)

The G3M Space Corps suit loads fine after being converted to blended weightmap. .

Have there been any more failures? The items that I have converted to blended seem to work fine. Great job, Misty!

Misty's product is awesome. I've been buying a lot of G3 content and trying it in Carrara. Most items work well after converting them.

I seem to have a lot of issues with shoes and feet. When they're first loaded they work fine, but after saving them in Carrara and then opening the file, parts of the shoes seem welded too the floor. Shadowcat (first image) has distortion in the feet and the last image shows the weird feet issue. I usually just reload the shoes every time I open the file. A pain, but workable.

Skin shaders seem a little dull and grayish. Is that because of lack of SSS? Any hints on improving skin tones.

there are carrara shaders out for genesis and genesis2, think is by ringo, could try those settings on g3 skins.

the shoe thing might be due to the extra toe bone that acts like a body handle for all the individual toes.

Superheroes is my thing. I repurposed George into the Blob.

I own those shaders from Ringo. I guess I didn't realize that the uv's were the same for G2 and G3. I'll give it a try.

well, uvs arent the same,

use the shader ""settings"", but swap in george's texture maps .

there's also the hollywetcircuit's trick, was on carrara cafe, i'm having trouble finding it again >.<

That makes sense. Sounds like a lot of work, but only have to do it once for each figure.

yeah. it doesn't let you apply a shader without changing the texture map, would make our carrara life easier lol

i set my render settings high, slows a render, but, still faster than iray.

my dream is vray for carrara.
