hi there! I'm having some trouble with Poser 11 switching the renderer. Whenever I use the function of rendering a part of the scene or after pressing ctrl+R, there is a small chance Poser is switching to firefly, although I set up Superfly to render. It should work as 70% of the renders end up being rendered via Superfly but sometimes it will just switch to Firefly for no conceivable reason. I also usually go into the task manager and adjust Poser to use 7 of the 12 available CPU cores. After Poser does the flip to firefly, the cores are also reset and my pc is running slow during the whole render process.
any ideas ? sorry if there is a similar thread, but i couldn't find anything .

Hi ya!
I'm going to move this thread to Poser 11 technical... I hope you will get some help.

thanks ! :D i actually found out what's the cause of the problem. though i don't know how to fix it. as soon as i add the preset refraction of reflection nodes, on the right hand side in the material room, by using the buttons "add reflection" and "add refraction" it switches to firefly while also resetting my CPU core adjustments.

Ah! I bet those are hard wired to Firefly!
Try adding reflection/refraction manually via the SuperFly cycles...

The wacros do default the renderer to Firefly, but you can just go back into the render settings and switch it back to Superfly. You would indeed though probably get better results using Superfly specific reflection/refraction as the wacros cause broken shaders for Superfly, as the dashed connections in the material room show.
I would recommend having a play with ghostship2's Uber shader for P11 (it's free) that allows pretty much any material from one shader. You can read about it (and I believe there is a link to it as well) in this post I would recommend reading the whole thread) in the Poser forum: https://www.renderosity.com/mod/forumpro/?thread_id=2906113&page_number=2

ok thank you, i will read the thread and i will also check out that über shader. since i'm fairly new to poser, i was assuming those buttons would work with the superfly shader and changing the shader manually whenever i add a reflection or refraction gets kinda annoying with time ^^'
i guess there is no easy way to set up the buttons, at least not without knowledge on how to program macros or something like that.
thanks again for the help.

I can also attest to the usefulness of Ghostship's shader set, as I've used it often, and I like the results.
