SmithMicro has the Silo modeling program on sale until May 3rd. One license allows for installation on three machines.

They fixed some bugs which were in 2.3, and now, in 2.3.1, Silo can run 64bit, allowing for big projects (Tink's Cafe', Lothlorien, Galadriel's mirror, Stargate Atlantis gate room).
Silo is my go-to program for modeling. You can also UV map in it. It's good for someone who wants to learn to model, because the UI is pretty simple; yet there is depth there, if you grow into it.
Love my Silo! 
Silo will also run on Linux. One license allows installation on three machines (you can mix bitness and OSes).
There are Silo UI presets available to mimic the shortcuts and tool layout of 3dsMax, Maya, C4D, and LightWave.

I have Silo 2.3.1, and like it. I use Blender more often, but I find if I want to model clothing, it's easier for me to do so in Silo for some reason, so I can recommend getting it whole-heartedly. 
This is a great opportunity, at a very reasonable price.

Thanks for the heads up. Does this mean, SM is going to maintain Silo? I have been interested in this software for a longer time now, but always hesitated, because it seemed, or at least I had the impression, it was abandoned for a long time now.

I had the same impression back in 2014 when I first tried out the 30-day trial, but I think it's just a matter of Nevercenter not updating every year, or every other year, as some software companies do.

Also,keep an eye on Steam. I got my copy of Silo there, a lot lot cheaper (£19 if I remember correctly for the pro version) it runs stand alone without steam.....
