Hello there. Not sure if this is the proper place to ask this but as I stumbled upon the problem(s) while trying unsuccessfully to download several freebies, I'll give it a try.

Is there any ongoing problem at this moment with Renderosity's servers or something? I've been trying to download several freebies since yesterday night -not big files, around 20MB tops- and there's no way. My connection is 200MB and I can download any other file of that size from any other site -won't mention names, not sure about the rules regarding this but I mean legit places offering legal freebies- in a couple of seconds at most and my net surfing is completely normal otherwise. I've tried Firefox, Chrome and Safari, it just the same regardless: 1kb-20kbs speeds most, then it gets stuck somewhere mid-download until it times out and fails, then if you try again it resets the download and here we go again and again.

I've just noticed while checking these very forums that plain navigation through Renderosity in general seems to be sluggish overall. Any insight about this? I'd really appreciate any help. I can't find those freebies anywhere else.

Thank you for your time and help.

I'm coming back right now from the members gallery section. Any picture I click in brings me to its page but then it takes anything between 1 minute to 2 to show fully -if at all, as the process can get interrupted too just like the freebie downloads. Something's definitely wrong here. Any other web page that I choose at random loads lightning fast as it should.

I just downloaded a free-bee and a paid item yesterday and had no issues at all. You might want to check your ISP and see if they're having issues. Having 200mips isn't a guarantee your speed is working at top speed all the time. I have 300mips from my isp and sometimes see slowdowns. Do an online speed check to verify.

You may also have downloaded at a time when Renderosity is exceptionally busy? (I have seen it happen at the "D" site many times in the past) If it persists, contact sales here atRenderosity.

I just tried downloading using my laptop and a 4G connection from a different Internet provider, same exact issue. I get into sharecg, download a 12Mb file: three seconds -I counted. I navigate YouTube, IGN, Crave online. flawless surfing. Ice Boy Superman outfit freebie from renderosity, 2-3Kb speed, stuck at 7%, timeout, download failed.

I just ran a speed test too on the desktop. 128Mb download speed, 119 upload. Things don't add up, here. I don't know what it is, but I'm highly doubtful that the problem is on my side, honestly. Thanks for your input, however.

Edit: just noticed that you mention that your successful downloads happened yesterday. I've downloaded many times in the past from renderosity without problems myself, but the issue, for me, is happening now -and yesterday night as I mentioned, but bear in mind that we may in different time zones.

speed varies from minute to minute on the internet. You rarely get the speed you're supposed to get. But what you're describing sounds like it's at Renderosity's end or somewhere in between. Let them know there's a problem as others in your area may have the same issue.
