For the past two or three weeks, I've been working on putting together a Directory of vendors who make Poser content.
As some of you may have heard or read elsewhere, I'm currently in the midst of collecting and compiling a directory of vendors who make content native to Poser. Sorry, DSON doesn't count. My current intention is simply to list the categories of content, and place the name of each vendor under the category for which he makes content. So a vendor's name may appear under several different categories. I may even include a freebie category for creators who aren't in stores yet or release on freebie sites like Renderosity's Freestuff and ShareCG.
I'm currently combing through stores and websites trying to find the names of these creators, and I'd like some help. If you know of a creator who's been left off the list, or if you are a creator who makes native Poser content. add your name or theirs to this thread and site mail me at Renderosity a link to where I can find your page or store.

A quick question for anyone who knows, but first : I'm still adding and subtracting categories to the directory. This is basically so that it will be easier for you the user, to be able to locate any prop, hair, scene, or pose you might be looking for by the content creator. That said, I'ved decided to add a new category to the list called Dynamic Cloth. I've only got three or four names so far, but it you know of a creator, and where they can be found, who makes dynamic cloth clothing please let me know.
Finally, if any one know where Dreamland Models gets the old vintage cars he uses in his promos. Please let me know. Also looking for content creators who make any style of motorized vehicles. That includes, Trucks, vans, cars, boats, motorcycles, planes, etc.

If you do not see the name of your favorite Poser content vendor listed, or know of one I've missed, then please let me know via site mail. Also, if you can send a link where i can find their current store, it would be helpful. you can look for the list to be posted in the next couple of days.

Depends on what you mean by "currently active" and "moved on". These vendors, most of them anyway, all have products currently for sale at one or more of the brokerages that sell product for DAZ Studio and Poser. I know of at least two or three on the list who are currently, deceased, so no I don't believe they're currently working on anything new.

My only suggestion, and you can ignore this if you wish, but the gold gradient buttons don't really tie in with anything else in your site's design, which is mostly white and shades of blue, with red as a contrast color.
Since the category links are white text on a blue background, how about blue text on a white/gray gradient background for your main site buttons. Here's a quick example of what I'm thinking would work nicely.

Not being picky, but I think MissB is right:
Her suggestion looks better because the yellow/gold buttons somehow stuck out like a sore thumb.
Apart from this little detail I think that your layout is a very viable solution (keeping in mind that there can never be a "perfect" solution).
I guess most people who visit your site don't do it just for fun.
They do it because they are looking for a particulat item!
Your layout will help them to get to the vendors which sell productds in that category. I like it!

EClark1894 posted Thu, 31 August 2017 at 3:59 PM
Yeah, she's not the only one, but I did ask how people liked it. My problem with the button color is that that was their original color, and with the light blue background, they sort of just blend into the background too much for my tastes. I hope Miss B won't be offended, but I'm going to leave them alone for now.
Miss B posted Thu, 31 August 2017 at 8:40 PM
Of course not Earl. I said you could ignore it. Think about it, and if the buttons you have are what you want, or you decide on another set of colors for the main site buttons, that's your choice to make. I was just making a suggestion to give you an idea to think about.

Go! Go! GO! I think you've created something really useful here. Our next task is to make it known in the Poser community outside of our community bubble of the major forums... Not easy!
Maybe you really should make an effort to include your list with SM's next itereationof Poser, and to also list them on their Poser homepage to showcase potential Poser users what's available.
I mean:
Googling desparately for Poser content ends up as it always does: page after page of Genesis stuff.
But if SM would really go beyond it's arrogant "Phttt! We sell software, not content" attitude and provide users with a comprehensive list of content made specifically for Poser, they would help new users a LOT! Before they move to DAZ because of the better content available almost everywhere...
EClark, if you can make this happen you really deserve a medal (CMOH, VC, GC, OBE - choose any!)

pikesPit posted Sat, 30 September 2017 at 1:17 PM
That's a good and honest intention. But you should also think about advertising your site so it becomes known in the community! So a sort of "official" banner might be in order. You and me can make one ourselves and link it to your site, but not all people can; so a simple c/p template might help those a lot!

I'm working on it. If you need to reach me though, you can always reach me through Renderosity sitemail, or the HiveWire Forum messages.. Actually though, you could help me test something out. Could you send an email to Avis at 3dcontentdirectory.com? I need to see if that email is working. And just so you know, you need to be a Poser content vendor with Poser content currently available either from your own website or an online store to be listed. You also need to have at least one product. I would prefer more, but it's not a crucial requirement. Oh, and nothing DSON compatible. It has to be native Poser format.

I did add FoRender initially, but deleted them later. There have been some allegations made against them, particularly against someone I am personally aware of, and to the best of my knowledge nothing has been done about it. Freedom of Art website is listed in the Online Stores category under the name Summoner. As I mentioned earlier in the thread, I have no problem with "Fan Art", provided nothing illegal or dishonest is going on with it. People who sell things through places like Deviant Art troubles me though, even though I have heard people say positive things about the set up. Still, I'm uncomfortable with the idea of what appears to me, at least, to be the online equivalent of someone selling something out of the trunk of a car. I'd just rather not be involved.

Why don't you turn your banner in to a link to your site .
I'm not sure what the rules are concerning links to other sites on Rendo.
I see other users here have links to there sites in there signature . If they can ,It's only fair you can to ,right ?

I don't assume stuff like that on other people's websites. If Boni, Kendra, or one of the other moderators tell me it's okay, I'll do it. It is rather ironic though that I'm signed up as an affiliate for Renderosity, and I'm required to post a link to Renderosity on my website.

I feel I have to re-iterate this. Yes, it is a Poser specific directory. I created it because I was having problems finding Poser specific content at the stores. Everything seemed to be hiding behind Genesis and Studio content. You can't buy it if you can't find it or don't know it's there. That said, most of the vendors listed actually do create products for Daz Studio as well, so Studio users can use this directory as well to find their favorite vendor. The only vendors who have been intentionally excluded from being listed ONLY create products for Daz Studio, or they used DSON. I can't STAND DSON.
